Redescription of †Eobrasilia coutoi (Metatheria: Polydolopimorphia), a unique sclerocarpophagous metatherian from the Palaeogene of South America: Systematic affinities, and paleoecological and evolutionary implications

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The ‘Palaeogene strata’ of the Itaboraí Basin (upper Paleocene‐lower Eocene), Southeastern Brazil, has preserved 29 genera and almost 50 species of metatherians (about 65% of its mammalian diversity). Among them, Eobrasilia coutoi Simpson, 1947 is the most enigmatic due to its quite fragmentary nature.

Effectiveness of Collagen Membrane in the Treatment of Schneiderian Membrane Perforation

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
Schneiderian membrane perforation (SMP) is the most common complication encountered during sinus lift procedures. SMPs should be managed to prevent loss of the valuable bone graft and bone substitute materials.

Efficacy, safety and cost‐effectiveness of CAR‐T therapy

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
CAR T‐cells demonstrate high efficacy in blood cancers, including ALL, MM and DLBCL. Innovations target solid tumours despite challenges such as antigen escape. Combination therapies enhance the delivery and infiltration of CAR T cells. Toxicity, cost and resistance remain major barriers to clinical use.

Anatomy of the Soft Palate and Its Role in Upper Airway Function: A Narrative Review

open access: yesClinical Anatomy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The soft palate is a complex anatomical structure, located at the posterior aspect of the oral and nasal cavities, able to dynamically create valve closure of the nasal and the oral cavities. Its precise movement is critical for speech, swallowing, and respiration. Despite its functional importance, detailed characterization of its constituent

Indirect sinus lift without bone graft material: systematic review and meta-analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
A systematic literature review and a meta-analysis of indirect sinus lift without the use of bone graft material was performed. A PubMed search was made from January 2005 to January 2012 with keywords: “sinus lift” , “osteo-tome” , “graft” and ...

Guided bone regeneration using CAD‐CAM zirconia barriers: A case series with digital evaluation of bone changes

open access: yesClinical Advances in Periodontics, EarlyView.
Background CAD/CAM zirconia barriers represent an advanced option for guided bone regeneration (GBR) in three‐dimensional defects, integrating mechanical stability, biocompatibility, and digital precision. The objectives of this case series were to evaluate, clinically, histologically, and three‐dimensionally, the use of customized zirconia barriers ...

Comparative Evaluation of Indirect Sinus Lift Using CMC Technique Versus Direct Sinus Lift Via Lateral Window Technique in Subantral Type IV

open access: yesMa’aen Journal for Medical Sciences
Background: Maxillary sinus augmentation is a common implant placement procedure when residual bone height (RBH) in the posterior maxilla is limited, especially in subantral type IV cases.

Flapless Cone Beam Computed Tomography-Guided Implant Surgery with Contextual Transcrestal Sinus Lift Augmentation Using New Bone Compactor Tools

open access: yesCase Reports in Dentistry, 2020
In the present paper, the authors present a case report of premolar edentulism in the upper jaw treated through a guided flapless oral implant surgery with contextual crestal sinus lift, performed with a system of manual screw-tapered bone expanders (B&B
