Early Cretaceous–Late Miocene Basin–Mountains Pattern in the Northeastern Margin of the Tibetan Plateau, NW China: Evidence From Detrital Zircon Chronology in the Lanzhou Basin

open access: yesGeological Journal, EarlyView.
Using DZmix and DZstats models, we quantified the contributions of potential sources of the Lanzhou basin. Our findings indicate that the Cenozoic cooling and denudation signals primarily originated from Qilian and West Qinling, which were the main sediment sources.

Evidence of Quaternary tectonics along Río Grande valley, southern Malargüe fold and thrust belt, Mendoza, Argentina [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The Malargüe fold and thrust belt is developed in the Argentinian Andes between 34° and 37° S, through the tectonic inversion of Upper Triassic and Lower Jurassic depocenters of the Neuquén Basin, with an uplift history since the Cretaceous.

Origins of the Pangkaimen Au Deposit in the Northern Great Xing'an Range, China: Evidence From Geochronological, Geochemical, Fluid Inclusion, and H–O–S–Pb Isotope Data

open access: yesGeological Journal, EarlyView.
The Pangkaimen Au–Ag deposits belong to the epithermal Au deposits, which are of great significance for guiding the research and development of this type of gold deposit. Metallogenic model diagram of Pangkaimen Au–Ag deposit. ABSTRACT The gold (Au) metallogenic belt in the northern Great Xing'an Range is characterised by the wide occurrence of the ...

Evidence for global cooling in the Late Cretaceous

open access: yesNature Communications, 2014
The Late Cretaceous ‘greenhouse’ world witnessed a transition from one of the warmest climates of the past 140 million years to cooler conditions, yet still without significant continental ice.

Evidence From Microscopy and U–Pb Geochronology as a Clue to the Influence of the Cretaceous Magmatism in the Diagenesis of Pre‐Salt Carbonate Reservoirs in the Santos Basin (Brazil)

open access: yesGeological Journal, EarlyView.
Carbonates from Santos Basin revealed U–Pb ages correlated with basalt ages (A), suggesting that they were formed during magmatic events. These events placed hot CO2 in the reservoir, which, when mixed with carbonate‐rich cold water (B), led to thermal convection, enabling the formation of the U contained in the carbonates.

DIVERSITY PATTERNS OF NOTOSUCHIA (CROCODYLIFORMES, MESOEUCROCODYLIA) DURING THE CRETACEOUS OF GONDWANA

open access: yes, 2015
Notosuchia is a diverse clade of Crocodyliformes that achieved a remarkable diversity during the Cretaceous. This group is particu- larly abundant in continental deposits of Gondwana throughout the Cretaceous, especially in South America.

The Cretaceous World

open access: yesGeological Society, London, Special Publications
The Cretaceous System was first established by Jean Baptiste Julien d'Omalius d'Halloy based on his geological mapping of France and the adjacent areas of the Low Countries and Northern Italy. His map, which was published in 1822, has a legend with a rock unit identified as ‘ Terrain Crétacé ’, and that was the ...

Contrasting Patterns of Phyllosphere Fungal Diversity Between Angiosperms and Gymnosperms Along a Subalpine‐Elevation Gradient 题目:亚高山海拔梯度上被子植物与裸子植物叶际真菌多样性的相反格局

open access: yesIntegrative Conservation, EarlyView.
The leaf functional traits of angiosperms and gymnosperms in mountain ecosystems significantly influence phyllosphere fungal diversity. These traits are critical for understanding fungal stress resistance and elevational adaptation, which aids in predicting plant responses to climate change.

Controlling factors and evolution of reservoirs in continental rift lacustrine carbonate factory: insight from the cretaceous ITP-BVE formation in Brazil’s Santos Basin

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
The Cretaceous Itapema and Barra Velha Formations in Brazil’s Santos Basin represent a rare giant rift lacustrine carbonate factory with considerable potential for oil and gas exploration.
