Predicting post‐wildfire overland flow using remotely sensed indicators of forest productivity

open access: yesHydrological Processes, Volume 36, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Relations between runoff coefficient and landscape metrics. (a) linear regression for inland plots only, (b) no regression determined for the data, (c‐f) exponential decay function fitted to the data (C = ae(b×x)). Triangles are the mean value for C, the line is the median, the bar show the range between the 25th and 75th percentiles, whiskers are the ...

A Late Cretaceous amber biota from central Myanmar

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
Insect faunas are extremely rare near the latest Cretaceous with a 24-million-year gap spanning from the early Campanian to the early Eocene. Here, we report a unique amber biota from the Upper Cretaceous (uppermost Campanian ~72.1 Ma) of Tilin, central ...

Osteohistological characterization of notosuchian osteoderms: Evidence for an overlying thick leathery layer of skin

open access: yesJournal of Morphology, Volume 284, Issue 1, January 2023., 2023
The perpendicular insertion of Sharpey's fibers in the external cortex suggests the presence of a thick leathery skin layer overlying notosuchian osteoderms. Although intramembranous ossification is the main process involved in the development of crocodyliform osteoderms, we reported a case of metaplastic development.

South Atlantic continental margins of Africa: a comparison of the tectonic vs climate interplay on the evolution of equatorial west Africa and SW Africa margins [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The comparative review of 2 representative segments of Africa continental margin: the equatorial western Africa and the SW Africa margins, helps in analysing the main controlling factors on their development. Early Cretaceous active rifting S of the Walvis Ridge resulted in the formation of the SW Africa volcanic margin.

Termite colonies from mid-Cretaceous Myanmar demonstrate their early eusocial lifestyle in damp wood

open access: yesNational Science Review, 2019
Insect eusociality is characterized by cooperative brood care, reproductive division of labour and multiple generations of adults within a colony. The morphological specializations of the different termite castes from Burmese amber were recently reported,
