Logging-Based Fracability Evaluation of Shale Oil Reservoirs in the Upper Cretaceous Qingshankou Formation, Central Daqing Placanticline, China

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Fracability serves as the dominant factor governing the recoverable conditions of shale oil reservoirs. Based on logging data from the Cretaceous Qingshankou Formation in the central Daqing Placanticline, China, combined with core experimental data ...

Algal-Microbial Community, Paleoenvironment, and Shale Oil Potential of Lacustrine Organic-Rich Shale in the Upper Cretaceous Nenjiang Formation of the Southern Central Depression, Songliao Basin (NE China)

open access: yes, 2021
The Songliao Basin is the largest oilfield in China and across southeast Asia. The Upper Cretaceous Qingshankou and Nenjiang Formations in the basin comprise the source rocks for conventional oil and gas, as well as the primary exploration target for ...

Iron–Phosphorus–Carbon Coupled Cycling in Lacustrine System of Ordos Basin During the Middle Triassic

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 27, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract Widespread organic‐rich shales are associated with perturbations in productivity or preservation conditions; however, the major controlling factors, especially the phosphorus (P) and iron (Fe) interactions and their impacts on organic carbon burial in the paleolake ecosystem remain poorly understood.

Study on Hydraulic Fracture Propagation of Strong Heterogeneous Shale Based on Stress‐Seepage Damage Coupling Model

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 13, Issue 1, Page 309-322, January 2025.
The stress model of rock in the hydraulic fracturing process is developed to study the behavior of hydraulic fracture propagation in strong heterogeneous shale under the coupled action of stress and seepage. In heterogeneous shale reservoirs, strong heterogeneity is the main factor limiting the height propagation of hydraulic fractures.

Sequence Stratigraphy and Geochemistry of Oil Shale Deposits in the Upper Cretaceous Qingshankou Formation of the Songliao Basin, NE China: Implications for the Geological Optimization of In Situ Oil Shale Conversion Processing

open access: yes, 2020
The Songliao Basin contains some of the largest volumes of oil shales in China; however, these energy sources are located in areas covered by arable land, meaning that the best way of exploiting them is likely to be environmentally friendly in situ ...
