Eubrachylaelaps martini, a New Mite (Acarina: Laelaptinae) from the Volcano Mouse (Mammalia: Cricetinae)

The Journal of Parasitology, 1951
Two collections of laelaptid mites from Mexico belong to an unnamed species of Eubrachylaelaps Ewing. This species is parasitic on the volcano mouse, Neotomodon alstoni Merriam, a member of the subfamily CRICETINAE to which belong all other hosts of the known species of Eubrachylaelaps. Trends of specialisation in rodents: the hamsters, subfamily Cricetinae (Cricetidae, Rodentia, Mammalia)

Acta Zoologica Lituanica, 2011
An ecomorphological analysis was applied to hamsters, Cricetinae. This subfamily includes seven genera and 18 species which inhabit forest-steppes, steppes, and semi-deserts of Palaearctic Eurasia. The main goals of this study were: (1) to reveal the morphological peculiarities of hamsters and the ecological meaning of these peculiarities, (2) to ...

True Hamsters (Cricetinae) of the Palaearctic Region

True hamsters are a small subfamily (Cricetinae) containing only 19 species which are endemic to the Palaearctic region. Despite such low species richness, general public is well familiar with hamsters, primarily knowing them as pets, experimental laboratory animals and species of conservation concern.

Parasite Immunology, 1994
SUMMARYGoblet and mast cell responses in the jejunum of four genera, Mesocricetus auratus (Syrian hamster), Phodopus campbelli, Cricetulus griseus (Chinese hamster), and Tscherskia triton, belonging to the subfamily Cricetinae, were examined after infection with Strongyloides venezuelensis.

Characterization of the complete mitochondrial genome of Phodopus roborovskii (Rodentia: Cricetidae) and systematic implications for Cricetinae phylogenetics

Biochemical Systematics and Ecology, 2016
Abstract Phodopus roborovskii (subfamily Cricetinae) is widely distributed in the northern arid regions of China. This study reports its complete mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) for the first time. The complete sequence was 16,273 bp long, including 13 protein-coding genes, 2 ribosomal RNAs, 22 transfer RNAs, and 1 major noncoding region.
