Substrate Stress Relaxation Regulates Cell‐Mediated Assembly of Extracellular Matrix

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Silicone‐based viscoelastic substrates with tunable stress relaxation reveal how matrix mechanics regulates cellular mechanosensing and cell‐mediated matrix remodelling in the stiff regime. High stress relaxation promotes assembly of fibronectin fibril‐like structures, increased nuclear localization of YAP and formation of β1 integrin‐enriched ...

The many faces of poverty

open access: yesEconómica, 2010
This paper presents empirical evidence on the deprivation costs of the 2001- 2002 Argentinean crisis. The selected approach is multidimensional and focuses on four aspects of quality of life: labor, assets, education and income.

MOFs and COFs in Electronics: Bridging the Gap between Intrinsic Properties and Measured Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs) hold promise for advanced electronics. However, discrepancies in reported electrical conductivities highlight the importance of measurement methodologies. This review explores intrinsic charge transport mechanisms and extrinsic factors influencing performance, and critically ...

Multidimensional Poverty and Economic Crisis: Recent Evidence from Uruguay

open access: yesIberoamericana – Nordic Journal of Latin American and Caribbean Studies, 2006
Many studies attest that Latin America is a region of persistentpoverty and inequality, despite the evolution of its economic performance.Since the 1940s, research undertaken in the orbit of the EconomicCommission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) has remarkedon the enormous social disparities present in most countries (see, forexample ...

Complex Cryptographic and User‐Centric Physically Unclonable Functions Enabled by Strain‐Sensitive Nanocrystals via Selective Ligand Exchange

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates electromechanical PUFs that improve on traditional electric PUFs. The electron transport materials are coated randomly through selective ligand exchange. It produces multiple keys and a key with motion dependent on percolation and strain, and approaches almost ideal inter‐ and intra‐hamming distances.
