Critical buckling load of pile in liquefied soil
Buckling instability has been recently identified as a possible mechanism of pile failure in liquefiable deposits and this failure mechanism is not explicitly mentioned in most design codes. To carry out routine design and checking, it is necessary to reliably estimate the critical buckling load of pile for a given liquefiable site.

Determination of critical load for flange buckling in concentrically loaded pultruded columns
Abstract Physical testing and theoretical methods to determine the critical local flange buckling load in concentric pultruded columns are presented. Knowledge of this critical load for wide flange profiles is required in a new universal column design procedure.

How Drillstring Rotation Affects Critical Buckling Load?
Abstract Buckling of tubulars inside wellbores has been the subject of many researches and articles in the past. However, these conservative theories have always followed the same assumptions: the wellbore has a perfect and unrealistic geometry (vertical, horizontal, deviated, curved), the friction and rotation effects are ignored ...

Critical Buckling Load on Large Spherical Shells
Approximate evaluation for watertanks, hortonspheres, vapor containers, containment vessels for nuclear reactors, and so forth, has been computed, taking into account out-of-roundness and local flattened areas; graphs have been plotted giving critical buckling load as function of maximum radial deviation over average chord to flattened area.

On the experimental validation of Ludwick law to predict critical buckling load of nonlinear elastic columns [PDF]
The main contribution of this work is validating the Ludwick law to model the nonlinear mechanical behavior in the prediction of the critical buckling load of nonlinear elastic columns.

Critical Buckling Loads for Tapered Columns
Transactions of the American Society of Civil Engineers, 1962Formulas and graphs for determination of critical elastic buckling loads of uniformly tapered columns having wide flange section, box section, and other cross-sectional shapes are presented; columns with pinned ends, fixed-free ends, fixed-pinned ends, and fixed ends are considered; critical elastic buckling loads may be obtained directly from graphs ...

Stiffness and critical buckling load of perforated sheeting
Thin-Walled Structures, 2006Abstract This paper deals with selected foundations of the design of perforated trapezoidal sheeting. Based on numerical analysis, graphs on effective stiffness values for perforated sheeting with different arrays of holes are provided. As an outlook on further research, the calculation of the buckling coefficient for a perforated plate under uniform

Safely Exceeding the "Critical Buckling Load" in Highly Deviated Holes
SPE Offshore Europe, 1989Abstract The critical buckling load, developed by Dawson and Paslay, is generally accepted as the limiting criteria for pushing tubing into a highly deviated hole. This criteria severely limits the distance coiled tubing can be pushed into a highly deviated hole.
