The critical end point of QCD [PDF]
We investigate the critical end point of QCD with two flavours of light dynamical quarks at finite lattice cutoff a=1/4T using a Taylor expansion of the baryon number susceptibility. We find a strong volume dependence of the position of the critical end point.

Observation of a multiferroic critical end point. [PDF]
The study of abrupt increases in magnetization with magnetic field known as metamagnetic transitions has opened a rich vein of new physics in itinerant electron systems, including the discovery of quantum critical end points with a marked propensity to develop new kinds of order.

QCD critical end point from a realistic PNJL model
With parameters fixed by critical temperature and equation of state at zero baryon chemical potential, a realistic Polyakov-Nambu-Jona-Lasinio (rPNJL) model predicts a critical end point of chiral phase transition at (μEB = 720MeV; TE = 93MeV).

QCD critical end point under strong magnetic fields [PDF]
We use the three-flavor Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model, which includes strangeness and quark physical masses in the mean field approximation, to investigate the influence of strong magnetic fields on the QCD phase diagram covering the whole $T- $ plane. It is found that the size of the first order transition line increases as the field strength increases ...

Reentrant Hidden Order at a Metamagnetic Quantum Critical End Point [PDF]
Magnetization measurements of URu2Si2 in pulsed magnetic fields of 44 T reveal that the hidden order phase is destroyed before appearing in the form of a re-entrant phase between ~ 36 and 39 T. Evidence for conventional itinerant electron metamagnetism at higher temperatures suggests that the re-entrant phase is created in the vicinity of a quantum ...

QCD critical end point and baryon number fluctuation
One of the main goals of relativistic heavy-ion collision (HIC) is to search for the critical end point (CEP) of quantum chromodynamics (QCD), and distribution of the net-proton number from experimental measurements shows non-monotonic behavior, which ...

Thermal Critical Points and Quantum Critical End Point in the Frustrated Bilayer Heisenberg Antiferromagnet [PDF]
We consider the finite-temperature phase diagram of the $S = 1/2$ frustrated Heisenberg bilayer. Although this two-dimensional system may show magnetic order only at zero temperature, we demonstrate the presence of a line of finite-temperature critical points related to the line of first-order transitions between the dimer-singlet and -triplet regimes.
