Observation of a multiferroic critical end point [PDF]

open access: yesProc Natl Acad Sci U S A, 2008
The study of abrupt increases in magnetization with magnetic field known as metamagnetic transitions has opened a rich vein of new physics in itinerant electron systems, including the discovery of quantum critical end points with a marked propensity to ...

Chiral symmetry restoration and the critical end point in QCD

open access: goldOpen Physics, 2017
In a system of quark matter we study the chiral phase transition, the behavior of the chiral and quark number susceptibility and the CEP at finite temperature and chemical potential.

Locating the critical end point of QCD [PDF]

open access: greenNuclear Physics A, 2014
We summarize recent results for the phase structure of QCD at finite temperature and light-quark chemical potential for N_f=2+1 and N_f=2+1+1 dynamical quark flavors. We discuss order parameters for the chiral and deconfinement transitions obtained from solutions of a coupled set of (truncated) Dyson-Schwinger equations for the quark and gluon ...

The critical end point of QCD [PDF]

open access: hybridProceedings of XXIIIrd International Symposium on Lattice Field Theory — PoS(LAT2005), 2005
We investigate the critical end point of QCD with two flavours of light dynamical quarks at finite lattice cutoff a=1/4T using a Taylor expansion of the baryon number susceptibility. We find a strong volume dependence of the position of the critical end point.

NICA: the critical end point

open access: hybridNuclear and Particle Physics Proceedings, 2016
AbstractThe critical phenomena of strongly interacting matter are presented in the frame of an effective theory at finite temperatures. The phase transitions are considered in systems where the critical end point (CEP) is a distinct singular feature existence of which is dictated by the chiral dynamics.

Critical end point in the presence of a chiral chemical potential [PDF]

open access: bronze, 2016
A class of Polyakov-loop-modified Nambu\char21{}Jona-Lasinio models has been used to support a conjecture that numerical simulations of lattice-regularized QCD defined with a chiral chemical potential can provide information about the existence and ...

Critical end point and its consequences [PDF]

open access: greenNuclear Physics A, 2006
Recently a lot of evidence that there exists a critical end point (CEP) in the QCD phase diagram has been accumulating. However, so far, no reliable equation of state with the CEP has been employed in hydrodynamical calculations. In this article, we construct the equations of state with the CEP on the basis of the universality hypothesis and show that ...

The critical end point through observables [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 2015
We develop the model of the critical phenomena of strongly interacting matter at high temperatures and baryon densities. The dual Yang-Mills theory with scalar degrees of freedom (the dilatons) is used.

Finding the critical end point of QCD: lattice and experiment [PDF]

open access: hybridProceedings of 5th International Workshop on Critical Point and Onset of Deconfinement — PoS(CPOD 2009), 2010
The current status of the search for the critical end point on the lattice and in experiments is discussed. A naive extrapolation is given of lattice results on the location of the critical end point to the continuum limit with the correct pion mass. An interpretation of current results on fluctuations is provided.
