QCD matter within a quasi-particle model and the critical end point

open access: yes, 2005
We compare our quasi-particle model with recent lattice QCD results for the equation of state at finite temperature and baryo-chemical potential. The inclusion of the QCD critical end point into models is discussed.

Quark number susceptibility around the critical end point [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2009
The quark number susceptibility is expressed as an integral in terms of dressed quark propagator and dressed vector vertex. It is then investigated with the latter two- and three-point functions confronted with a Dyson-Schwinger equation model which accommodates both finite temperature and baryon chemical potential.

Universality and Critical Behavior at the Critical-End-Point on Itinerant-Metamagnet UCoAl

open access: yes, 2012
We performed nuclear-magnetic-resonance (NMR) measurements on itinerant-electron metamagnet UCoAl in order to investigate the critical behavior of the magnetism near a metamagnetic (MM) critical endpoint (CEP).

Using the Linear Sigma Model with quarks to describe the QCD phase diagram and to locate the critical end point

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
We study the QCD phase diagram using the linear sigma model coupled to quarks. We compute the effective potential at finite temperature and quark chemical potential up to ring diagrams contribution.

Critical end-point and metamagnetic quantum criticality in Sr3Ru2O7

open access: yes, 2002
We report a metamagnetic critical point at (B*,T*)=(5.1T,1.1K) for magnetic fields applied perpendicular to the (tetragonal) c-axis of Sr3Ru2O7. First-order behaviour well below T* indicates that (B*,T*) marks a critical end-point that terminates a line of first-order metamagnetic transitions.

First-Order Transition and Critical End-Point in Vortex Liquids in Layered Superconductors

open access: yes, 2000
We calculate various thermodynamic quantities of vortex liquids in a layered superconductor by using the nonperturbative parquet approximation method, which was previously used to study the effect of thermal fluctuations in two-dimensional vortex systems.

The Dynamical Mean Field Theory phase space extension and critical properties of the finite temperature Mott transition [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We consider the finite temperature metal-insulator transition in the half filled paramagnetic Hubbard model on the infinite dimensional Bethe lattice. A new method for calculating the Dynamical Mean Field Theory fixpoint surface in the phase diagram is ...

Entropic corrections to Friedmann equations and bouncing universe due to the zero-point length

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2023
We employ Verlinde's entropic force scenario to extract the modified Friedmann equations by taking into account the zero-point length correction to the gravitational potential.

The QCD Critical End Point in the Context of the Polyakov--Nambu--Jona-Lasinio Model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We investigate the phase diagram of the so-called Polyakov--Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model at finite temperature and nonzero chemical potential with three quark flavors.

A Correlational Analysis of Shuttlecock Speed Kinematic Determinants in the Badminton Jump Smash

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
The forehand jump smash is an essential attacking stroke within a badminton player’s repertoire. A key determinate of the stroke’s effectiveness is post-impact shuttlecock speed, and therefore awareness of critical technique factors that ...
