INTENSITY AND CRITICAL FREQUENCY FOR VISUAL FLICKER [PDF]
Using the rotating striped cylinder device previously employed for determination of the flicker response function with lower animals, corresponding measurements have been made with human observers. The curves based upon the relation between critical flash frequency and critical intensity for the signalling of the recognition of flicker have the ...

Critical flicker frequency: A useful tool in diagnosis of minimal hepatic encephalopathy
Background: Minimal hepatic encephalopathy (MHE) is viewed as mild neuro-cognitive abnormalities in cirrhotics without overt encephalopathy. Diagnostic strategies for MHE include portosystemic encephalopathy (PSE) syndrome test, critical flicker ...

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

A novel intermittent fault detection algorithm and health monitoring for electronic interconnections [PDF]
There are various occurrences and root causes that result in no-fault-found (NFF) events but an intermittent fault (IF) is the most frustrating. This paper describes the challenging and most important area of an IF detection and health monitoring that ...

Rethinking plastic waste: innovations in enzymatic breakdown of oil‐based polyesters and bioplastics
Plastic pollution remains a critical environmental challenge, and current mechanical and chemical recycling methods are insufficient to achieve a fully circular economy. This review highlights recent breakthroughs in the enzymatic depolymerization of both oil‐derived polyesters and bioplastics, including high‐throughput protein engineering, de novo ...
