Choosing friends carefully: allies for critical computing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
In this paper, we argue firstly that researchers in critical computing should address the specific information and communication technology (ICT) needs and activities of those agencies concerned with emancipatory issues.

The dual nature of TDC – bridging dendritic and T cells in immunity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
TDC are hematopoietic cells combining dendritic and T cell features. They reach secondary lymphoid organs (SLOs) and peripheral organs (liver and lungs) after FLT3‐dependent development in the bone marrow and maturation in the thymus. TDC are activated and enriched in SLOs upon viral infection, suggesting that they might play unique immune roles, since

Nonlinear nonhomogeneous Neumann eigenvalue problems

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2015
We consider a nonlinear parametric Neumann problem driven by a nonhomogeneous differential operator with a reaction which is $(p-1)$-superlinear near $\pm\infty$ and exhibits concave terms near zero.

An abstract critical point theorem with applications to elliptic problems with combined nonlinearities [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
We prove an abstract critical point theorem based on a cohomological index theory that produces pairs of nontrivial critical points with nontrivial higher critical groups. This theorem yields pairs of nontrivial solutions that are neither local minimizers nor of mountain pass type for problems with combined nonlinearities.

Critical groups of van Lint-Schrijver Cyclotomic Strongly Regular Graphs

open access: yes, 2019
The \emph{critical} group of a finite connected graph is an abelian group defined by the Smith normal form of its Laplacian. Let $q$ be a power of a prime and $H$ be a multiplicative subgroup of $K=\mathbb{F}_{q}$.

Arithmetical structures on bidents

open access: yes, 2020
An arithmetical structure on a finite, connected graph $G$ is a pair of vectors $(\mathbf{d}, \mathbf{r})$ with positive integer entries for which $(\operatorname{diag}(\mathbf{d}) - A)\mathbf{r} = \mathbf{0}$, where $A$ is the adjacency matrix of $G ...

Leveraging current insights on IL‐10‐producing dendritic cells for developing effective immunotherapeutic approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In vivo IL‐10 produced by tissue‐resident tolDC is involved in maintaining/inducing tolerance. Depending on the agent used for ex vivo tolDC generation, cells acquire common features but prime T cells towards anergy, FOXP3+ Tregs, or Tr1 cells according to the levels of IL‐10 produced. Ex vivo‐induced tolDC were administered to patients to re‐establish/

(p,2)-equations asymmetric at both zero and infinity

open access: yesAdvances in Nonlinear Analysis, 2018
We consider a (p,2){(p,2)}-equation, that is, a nonlinear nonhomogeneous elliptic equation driven by the sum of a p-Laplacian and a Laplacian with p>2{p>2}.
