Chameleon sequences reveal structural effects in proteins representing micelle‐like distribution of hydrophobicity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status

Curvature-Constrained Motion Planning Method for Differential-Drive Mobile Robot Platforms

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Compact heavy-duty skid-steer robots are increasingly used for city logistics and intralogistics tasks where high payload capacity and stability are required. However, their limited maneuverability and non-negligible turning radius challenge conventional

Critical Infrastructure Risks [PDF]

open access: yesCommunications - Scientific letters of the University of Zilina, 2008
Critical infrastructure can be taken as aphenomenon of recent time. Not only theory but also practice has shown that solving problems of the protection of critical infrastructure, especially ensuring its functionality, is a necessary precondition for the operation of public authorities, services, the viability of aregion, area or country.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

FOOD RESOURCES - AN ELEMENT OF CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURES [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals: Series on Military Sciences, 2011
The present paper presents that the surrounding environment and its resources preservation for the current and future generation represent vital issues for the long-term humankind sustainable economic development, energetic or food security.

Critical Infrastructure Safety Management [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions on Transport Sciences, 2009
Critical infrastructure is a set of mutually interconnected networks, i.e., the systems of various sectors of a human system. An interconnection of systems means their mutual dependence. Therefore, in connection with safe critical infrastructure and with sustainable development potential, it is necessary to solve several problems, namely the safety of ...

Digital twins to accelerate target identification and drug development for immune‐mediated disorders

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Digital twins integrate patient‐derived molecular and clinical data into personalised computational models that simulate disease mechanisms. They enable rapid identification and validation of therapeutic targets, prediction of drug responses, and prioritisation of candidate interventions.

Re‐Awakening Public Attention to the Silent Pandemic of Cancer Among Older Adults in Low‐ and Middle‐Income Countries

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT As global populations age, cancer is increasingly becoming a leading cause of morbidity and mortality among older adults, particularly in low‐ and middle‐income countries (LMICs). Despite accounting for the majority of new cancer cases and deaths, older individuals remain underrepresented in cancer research, clinical guidelines, and health ...
