The Critical Group of a Line Graph [PDF]
The critical group of a graph is a finite abelian group whose order is the number of spanning forests of the graph. This paper provides three basic structural results on the critical group of a line graph. The first deals with connected graphs containing no cut-edge. Here the number of independent cycles in the graph, which is known to bound the number

On the analytic continuation of the critical line [PDF]
We perform a numerical study of the systematic effects involved in the determination of the critical line at real baryon chemical potential by analytic continuation from results obtained at imaginary chemical potentials.

Slip line growth as a critical phenomenon
We study the growth of slip line in a plastically deforming crystal by numerical simulation of a double-ended pile-up model with a dislocation source at one end, and an absorbing wall at the other end.

Condensation of LINE-1 is critical for retrotransposition
LINE-1 (L1) is the only autonomously active retrotransposon in the human genome, and accounts for 17% of the human genome. The L1 mRNA encodes two proteins, ORF1p and ORF2p, both essential for retrotransposition.

Critical convective-type equations on a half-line [PDF]
We are interested in the global existence and large-time behavior of solutions to the initial-boundary value problem for critical convective-type dissipative equations ut+ℕ(u,ux)+(an∂xn+am∂xm)u=0, (x,t)∈ℝ+×ℝ+, u(x,0)=u0(x), x∈ℝ+, ∂xj−1u(0,t)=0 for j=1,…

Modern power utilization has been forced to operate close to their stability limits, which may lead to voltage instability or collapse owing to the stressed operating conditions of networks.

Classifying Potts critical lines [PDF]
We use scale invariant scattering theory to exactly determine the lines of renormalization group fixed points invariant under the permutational symmetry $S_q$ in two dimensions, and show how one of these scattering solutions describes the ferromagnetic and square lattice antiferromagnetic critical lines of the $q$-state Potts model.

Critical Dynamics of Contact Line Depinning [PDF]
ABSTRACTThe depinning of a contact line is studied as a dynamical critical phenomenon by a functional renormalization group technique. In D = 2 - ∈ “line” dimensions, the roughness exponent is ζ = ∈/3 to all orders in perturbation theory. Thus, ζ = 1/3 for the contact line, equal to the Imry-Ma estimate for equilibrium roughness. The dynamical exponent
