Behavior of the Widom Line in Critical Phenomena
Physical Review Letters, 2014Using linear scaling theory, we study the behavior of response functions extrema in the vicinity of the critical point. We investigate how the speed of convergence of the loci of response function extrema to the Widom line depends on the parameters of the linear scaling theory.

Abstract The Puritan Maypole... Thus each alternate season did homage to the Maypole, and paid it a tribute of its own richest splendor. Its votaries danced round it, once, at least, in every month; sometimes they called it their religion, or their altar; but always, it was the banner staff of Merry Mount.

A Critical Review of On-line Quality Analyzers
Mineral Resources Engineering, 2001This paper critically reviews the various available on-line analyzers (OLA), which are used in the mining industry for quality control. The paper presents the nuclear science principles governing the operation of various types including typical applications of the OLAs presently used in the mining industry.

Partial Euler Products on the Critical Line
Canadian Journal of Mathematics, 2005AbstractThe initial version of the Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer conjecture concerned asymptotics for partial Euler products for an elliptic curve L-function at s = 1. Goldfeld later proved that these asymptotics imply the Riemann hypothesis for the L-function and that the constant in the asymptotics has an unexpected factor of.

Irreversibility Line and Critical Current
Chinese Physics Letters, 1992The study of "irreversibility line" and magnetization curves of a YBCO superconductor prepared by melt-textured growth method is presented. It is shown that the temperature T* above which the magnetization is reversible can be identified with the temperature above which Jc is negligible, demonstrating the Yeshurun and Malozemoff's theory about ...

Critical line length determination
PowerCon 2000. 2000 International Conference on Power System Technology. Proceedings (Cat. No.00EX409), 2002One of the most severe faults for a circuit breaker to interrupt is the short-line fault (SLF). In this paper, digital testing is applied to determine the critical line length, i.e. the short-line fault percentage that stresses the circuit breaker most, for three different circuit breakers. Three arc models have been used for the calculations and three

A New "General Line": For Critics
The Quarterly of Film Radio and Television, 1955THE CINEMA STILL MEETS offhand disparagement from some scholars. But, generally speaking, it takes little bravado to call the film a new art form-even in the gravest circles. For better or worse, the cinema is no longer merely a contrivance for the commercial debauching of the masses; it is now the subject of solemn aesthetic and social analysis.
