Critical dynamics of metallic spin glasses

Physical Review B, 1988
We have measured the ac nonlinear susceptibilities ${\ensuremath{\chi}}_{3}^{\mathcal{'}}$, ${\ensuremath{\chi}}_{5}^{\mathcal{'}}$, and ${\ensuremath{\chi}}_{7}^{\mathcal{'}}$ of very dilute AgMn spin glasses above and below the transition temperature ${T}_{g}$ as a function of frequency, temperature and magnetic field.

Critical points of metal vapors

Journal of Experimental and Theoretical Physics, 2015
A new method is proposed for calculating the parameters of critical points and binodals for the vapor–liquid (insulator–metal) phase transition in vapors of metals with multielectron valence shells. The method is based on a model developed earlier for the vapors of alkali metals, atomic hydrogen, and exciton gas, proceeding from the assumption that the

Criticality of Seven Specialty Metals

Journal of Industrial Ecology, 2015
SummaryEvaluating metal criticality is a topic that addresses future metals supply and that has inspired research in corporations, academic institutions, and governments. In this article, we apply a comprehensive criticality methodology to seven specialty metals—scandium (Sc), strontium (Sr), antimony (Sb), barium (Ba), mercury (Hg), thallium (Tl), and

Enriched Uranium Metal Criticality Calculations

Nuclear Technology, 1971
The effects of varying energy group cross-section sets and the space-angle mesh must be understood to evaluate critical parameters computed by the discrete ordinates Sn method.

Critical behaviour of metallic liquids

Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter, 1990
Experimental results for fluid metals near the liquid-vapour critical point shown that profound changes in the electronic structure of fluid metals occur in that region. A gradual transition from metallic to non-metallic behaviour occurs with decreasing density, which manifests itself in a correspondingly strong thermodynamic state dependence of the ...

Critical points of metallic fluids

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 2000
Abstract The interaction energy of virtual atoms overlapping by the classically accessible spheres of partially free valence electrons has been calculated at typical conditions of the critical points of metallic fluids. The distance of maximum approach of atoms has been found to be about the classical radius of the electronic shells.

Death Metal and Music Criticism

2012
Death metal is one of popular music's most extreme variants, and is typically viewed as almost monolithically nihilistic, misogynistic, and reactionary. Michelle Phillipov's Death Metal and Music Criticism: Analysis at the Limits offers an account of listening pleasure on its own terms.

Critical Behaviour in Fluid Metals

1987
Recent experimental results of electrical, optical and thermophysical properties of the fluid metals Cs, Rb and Hg in the immediate vicinity of their critical points made it possible to investigate the interplay between the metal-nonmetal transition and the liquid-vapor critcal point phase transition.
