Evidence for a Critical Micelle Concentration of Surfactants in Hydrocarbon Solvents

Langmuir, 2013
The concentration-dependent aggregation of two surfactants, anionic sodium dioctylsulfosuccinate (Aerosol OT or AOT) and nonionic pentaethylene glycol monododecyl ether (C12E5), has been studied in cyclohexane-D12 using small-angle neutron scattering (SANS).

Critical micelle concentration of AOT in supercritical alkanes

Langmuir, 1990
The critical micelle concentration of AOT was determined for supercritical propane, supercritical ethane, and supercritical ethylene. The cmc value for AOT reverse micelles in these supercritical fluids was found to be approximately 1 order of magnitude larger than the cmc values for AOT in nonpolar liquids.
