Nonlinear critical Reynolds number of a stratified plane Poiseuille flow
Physics of Fluids, 1996The minimum Reynolds number, ReNc, below which all the two-dimensional and monochromatic wave disturbances decay, is studied numerically for a thermally stratified plane Poiseuille flow. The ReNc is found to be sensitive to the change of Prandtl number P.

Fatigue Damage Calculation Using the Critical Plane Approach
Journal of Engineering Materials and Technology, 1995The critical plane approach is applied to model material fatigue behavior under any constant amplitude proportional loading. The most critical plane and the largest damage parameter are determined in closed form for six damage criteria that have been proposed in the literature.

CRITICAL LOAD AND POST-CRITICAL BEHAVIOUR OF LAMINATED PLANE BEAMS
2008Object of this research is the analysis, within the framework of finite displacements, of laminated plane beams both with straight or curved axis. For such structures, as it is well known, non-negligible transverse shear stresses arise, so that shear strains become an important issue. In the present work a hybrid-mixed finite element model with assumed

Critical transition Reynolds number for plane channel flow
Applied Mathematics and Mechanics, 2017The determination of the critical transition Reynolds number is of practical importance for some engineering problems. However, it is not available with the current theoretical method, and has to rely on experiments. For supersonic/hypersonic boundary layer flows, the experimental method for determination is not feasible either.

Critical Plane Approaches for Multiaxial Fatigue Damage Assessment
1993This paper reviews the evolution of the critical plane damage models and traces their origins from the early work such as that of Guest. Physical justification in the form of detailed observations of crack nucleation and early growth are provided for the models.
