Adjunctive Therapeutic Plasma Exchange in Refractory Adult‐Onset Still's Disease Complicated by Secondary Macrophage Activation Syndrome: A Single‐Center Experience

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Adult‐onset Still's disease (AOSD) complicated by macrophage activation syndrome (MAS) carries substantial mortality. The role of therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) remains uncertain. Methods We retrospectively analyzed patients with AOSD‐MAS treated with TPE at a single‐center.

FATIGUE LIFE PREDICTION OF NOTCHED STRUCTURE USING COMBINED CRITICAL PLANE-CRITICAL DISTANCE APPROACH (MT)

open access: yesJixie qiangdu, 2023
In engineering practice, due to various functional requirements, structures with geometric discontinuities occur widely; in addition, most structures undergo complex multiaxial loads, which drives the development of relevant theories.

Revealing the structure of land plant photosystem II: the journey from negative‐stain EM to cryo‐EM

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Advances in cryo‐EM have revealed the detailed structure of Photosystem II, a key protein complex driving photosynthesis. This review traces the journey from early low‐resolution images to high‐resolution models, highlighting how these discoveries deepen our understanding of light harvesting and energy conversion in plants.

Critical percolation in the plane

open access: yes, 2009
We study scaling limits and conformal invariance of critical site percolation on triangular lattice. We show that some percolation-related quantities are harmonic conformal invariants, and calculate their values in the scaling limit. As a particular case we obtain conformal invariance of the crossing probabilities and Cardy's formula.

Analysis of Students’ Critical Thinking Skills in Determining Plane Figure Properties

open access: yesEdumatika, 2022
The plane figure is compulsory mathematics material at all levels of education, including junior high school. However, students still make frequent mistakes in understanding the plane figures' properties.

Off-critical parafermions and the winding angle distribution of the O($n$) model

open access: yes, 2012
Using an off-critical deformation of the identity of Duminil-Copin and Smirnov, we prove a relationship between half-plane surface critical exponents $\gamma_1$ and $\gamma_{11}$ as well as wedge critical exponents $\gamma_2(\alpha)$ and $\gamma_{21 ...

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Angular-dependent upper critical field of overdoped Ba(Fe$_{1-x}$Ni$_x$)$_2$As$_2$

open access: yes, 2013
In-plane resistivity measurements as a function of temperature, magnetic field and its orientation with respect to the crystallographic $ab-$plane were used to study the upper critical field, $H_{c2}$, of two overdoped compositions of the iron-based ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Optical symmetries and anisotropic transport in high-Tc superconductors

open access: yes, 2003
A simple symmetry analysis of in-plane and out-of-plane transport in a family of high temperature superconductors is presented. It is shown that generalized scaling relations exist between the low frequency electronic Raman response and the low frequency
