Asymptotically critical points and their multiplicity [PDF]

open access: yesTopological Methods in Nonlinear Analysis, 2002
The authors study multiplicity results for the critical points of a functional via topological information which ensures multiplicity of critical points for a sequence of approximating functionals. The main statement is Theorem 1.3 which states that the number of critical values of the functional in an interval is larger than the limsup of the relative

FoxO1 signaling in B cell malignancies and its therapeutic targeting

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
FoxO1 has context‐specific tumor suppressor or oncogenic character in myeloid and B cell malignancies. This includes tumor‐promoting properties such as stemness maintenance and DNA damage tolerance in acute leukemias, or regulation of cell proliferation and survival, or migration in mature B cell malignancies.

Critical point calculation for binary mixtures of symmetric non-additive hard disks

open access: yesCondensed Matter Physics, 2016
We have calculated the values of critical packing fractions for the mixtures of symmetric non-additive hard disks. An interesting feature of the model is the fact that the internal energy is zero and the phase transitions are entropically driven.

Critical Point of a Symmetric Vertex Model

open access: yes, 2005
We study a symmetric vertex model, that allows 10 vertex configurations, by use of the corner transfer matrix renormalization group (CTMRG), a variant of DMRG.

QCD and the chiral critical point [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 1994
As an extension of $QCD$, consider a theory with ``$2+1$'' flavors, where the current quark masses are held in a fixed ratio as the overall scale of the quark masses is varied. At nonzero temperature and baryon density it is expected that in the chiral limit the chiral phase transition is of first order.

Insights into PI3K/AKT signaling in B cell development and chronic lymphocytic leukemia

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This Review explores how the phosphoinositide 3‐kinase and protein kinase B pathway shapes B cell development and drives chronic lymphocytic leukemia, a common blood cancer. It examines how signaling levels affect disease progression, addresses treatment challenges, and introduces novel experimental strategies to improve therapies and patient outcomes.

Evolution of fluctuations near QCD critical point

open access: yes, 2010
We propose to describe the time evolution of quasi-stationary fluctuations near QCD critical point by a system of stochastic Boltzmann-Langevin-Vlasov-type equations.

Dynamic trapping near a quantum critical point [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The study of dynamics in closed quantum systems has recently been revitalized by the emergence of experimental systems that are well-isolated from their environment. In this paper, we consider the closed-system dynamics of an archetypal model: spins near

A holographic critical point

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2011
We numerically construct a family of five-dimensional black holes exhibiting a line of first-order phase transitions terminating at a critical point at finite chemical potential and temperature. These black holes are constructed so that the equation of state and baryon susceptibilities approximately match QCD lattice data at vanishing chemical ...

Making tau amyloid models in vitro: a crucial and underestimated challenge

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This review highlights the challenges of producing in vitro amyloid assemblies of the tau protein. We review how accurately the existing protocols mimic tau deposits found in the brain of patients affected with tauopathies. We discuss the important properties that should be considered when forming amyloids and the benchmarks that should be used to ...
