Existence of nontrivial solutions for a class of elliptic systems

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2013
Using a version of the generalized mountain pass theorem, we obtain the existence of nontrivial solutions for a class of superquadratic elliptic systems.

Critical point theorem for asymptotically quadratic functional without compactness

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 2010
The main result of the present paper establishes an abstract critical point theorem for asymptotically quadratic functionals with lack of compactness. The proof follows after a careful analysis of Morse indices of critical points, combined with an adequate penalization technique.

Fundamental Challenges, Physical Implementations, and Integration Strategies for Ising Machines in Large‐Scale Optimization Tasks

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Ising machines are emerging as specialized hardware solvers for computationally hard optimization problems. This review examines five major platforms—digital CMOS, analog CMOS, emerging devices, coherent optics, and quantum systems—highlighting physics‐rooted advantages and shared bottlenecks in scalability and connectivity.

On the Topological Classification of Four-Dimensional Steady Gradient Ricci Solitons with Nonnegative Sectional Curvature

open access: yesMathematics
In this paper, we study the topology of steady gradient Ricci solitons with nonnegative sectional curvature. We apply a characterization theorem for the fundamental group of a positively curved steady gradient Ricci soliton that admits a critical point ...

Multiple Solutions for Degenerate Elliptic Systems Near Resonance at Higher Eigenvalues

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2012
We study the degenerate semilinear elliptic systems of the form -div(h1(x)∇u)=λ(a(x)u+b(x)v)+Fu(x,u,v),x∈Ω,-div(h2(x)∇v)=λ(d(x)v+b(x)u)+Fv(x,u,v),x∈Ω,u|∂Ω=v|∂Ω=0, where Ω⊂RN(N≥2) is an open bounded domain with smooth boundary ∂Ω, the measurable ...

Prediction of Structural Stability of Layered Oxide Cathode Materials: Combination of Machine Learning and Ab Initio Thermodynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, we developed a phase‐stability predictor by combining machine learning and ab initio thermodynamics approaches, and identified the key factors determining the favorable phase for a given composition. Specifically, a lower TM ionic potential, higher Na content, and higher mixing entropy favor the O3 phase.

Fast homoclinic solutions for damped vibration problems with superquadratic potentials

open access: yesBoundary Value Problems, 2018
In this paper we investigate the existence and multiplicity of homoclinic solutions for the following damped vibration problem: DS u¨+q(t)u˙−L(t)u+Wu(t,u)=0, $$ \ddot{u}+q(t) \dot{u}-L(t)u+W_{u}(t,u)=0, $$ where q:R→R $q:\mathbb{R}\rightarrow\mathbb{R ...

Pricing Dynamics in the US Hemp Market: A Vertical Price Transmission Analysis of the Hemp Value Chain

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The US hemp market is a new and nascent industry that has been devoid of research for about half a century. This study examined the effects of exogenous shock on price at each phase of the value chain—Farm (hemp biomass), and its impact on prices at other phases of the value chain—Intermediary Processor (crude cannabidiol hemp) and Final ...

Three solutions for a class of Neumann boundary value systems driven by a (p_1,...,p_n)-Laplacian operator

open access: yesLe Matematiche, 2012
In this paper, we prove the existence of at least three weak solutions for Neumann doubly eigenvalue elliptic systems involving the (p_1, . . . , p_n )-Laplacian. The approach is based on a recent three critical points theorem obtained by B. Ricceri [9].

Homoclinic orbits for a class of $p$-Laplacian systems with periodic assumption

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2013
In this paper, by using a linking theorem, some new existence criteria of homoclinic orbits are obtained for the $p$-Laplacian system $d(|\dot{u}(t)|^{p-2}\dot{u}(t))/dt+\nabla V(t,x)=f(t)$, where $p>1$, $V(t,x)=-K(t,x)+W(t,x)$.
