Methods and Tools for the Verification of Critical Properties

1992
This paper discusses methods for the formal treatment of critical systems. The discussion is based on experience at ICL in the application of formal methods to the development of highly assured secure systems. Problems arising in the use of the standard paradigm for specification and refinement in Z are identified and discussed.

Medicinal properties of Echinacea: A critical review

Phytomedicine, 2003
Preparations from Echinacea purpurea are among the most widely used herbal medicines. Most uses of E. purpurea are based on the reported immunological properties. A series of experiments have demonstrated that E. purpurea extracts do indeed demonstrate significant immunomodulatory activities.

Critical properties of uranium selenide

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 1993
Abstract Bulk magnetization measurements and elastic neutron scattering have been used to determine the critical exponents β, γ and δ for single-crystal USe. The magnetization behavior in the ferromagnetic region is significantly influenced by anisotropy.

Critical Properties of One Dimensional Mappings

1980
Bifurcation theory deals with the asymptotic (long time) behaviour of systems of differential equations (continuous time) or dynamical systems (discrete time). Generally these evolution laws are non-linear and involve a few adjustable parameters (for instance temperature or boundary conditions in hydrodynamics) (1,2).

Critical properties of pseudospin Hamiltonians

Journal of Mathematical Physics, 1984
The thermodynamic critical properties of a simple class of pseudospin model Hamiltonians are discussed. This class of models includes the spin van der Waals model and the Meshkov–Glick–Lipkin model as particular cases. Second-order thermodynamic phase transitions occur when the spin–spin interaction contributes negatively in a particular direction and ...

Critical Properties of the Fuzzy Model

1989
When the random spin system is quenched in the computer simulation experiment from the infinite to a temperature below the critical temperature T C , it should be inevitably trapped at one of the metastable states, depending on the random sequence in the Monte Carlo simulation.
