Universal Critical Sections

2021
The baton algorithm in the previous chapter contains a “pattern for programming”. This raises the question of whether it is possible to generate program code “automatically” by using this pattern as a “recipe” for constructing nonsequential algorithms. In this chapter, it is shown that this is, indeed, the case.

Critical sections in networked games

2013 IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC), 2013
This work introduces the concept of critical sections for online first person shooter games (FPS). A critical section is a section of game-play which demands higher precision or tighter deadlines. Critical section traffic is more sensitive to network degradations than sections immediately preceding or following it.

Reading research critically: The discussion section

Journal of PeriAnesthesia Nursing, 1996
The discussion section of a research manuscript is the last thing we read and often the section that leaves the most lasting impression. It is important to know what to reasonably expect to be in the discussion section. This article presents the areas that are usually covered.

Criticality assessment of distribution feeder sections

2012 IEEE Power and Energy Society General Meeting, 2012
Summary form only given. This paper describes a simple probabilistic method for assessing the criticality of sections of a distribution feeder. The proposed method accounts for a number of factors such as the feeder configuration, reliability performance of each section of the feeder, number of load points of the feeder and the number of customers at ...

Section 14 Criticisms of the study

Progress in Cardiovascular Diseases, 1986
Abstract After examination of the major criticisms of the VA Cooperative Study we conclude that the patients in the VA study are representative of patients with stable angina seen in everyday practice; the surgical results are quite comparable with those of the European study and large, non-VA medical centers during the 1972 to 1974 period; the ...

Critical section and critical depth in open flows finding device

2017
There is theoretically shown that pressure is equal to half of flow depth at state of speed flow, i.e .It is equal to half of critical depth. Knowing it, authors offer a device that is designed to finding critical section and critical depth in open flows which are defined by consecutive measurements of dynamic pressure and depth of flow by means of the
