Graphene perfect absorber with loss adaptive Q-factor control function enabled by quasi-bound states in the continuum

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
Numerous device structures have been proposed for perfect absorption in monolayer graphene under single-sided illumination, all of which requires the critical coupling condition, i.e., the balance between the loss of graphene and the leakage rate of the ...

Stress and strain state of road slabs during production and use in the Western Siberia conditions

open access: yesИнженерно-строительный журнал, 2015
Precast concrete road slabs are used for auto-road construction in the severe hydrogeologic and climatic conditions of Western Siberia. The advantages of precast concrete road pavements have been proved by more than half a century of use, which is ...

Formation mechanism of internal cracks in continuous casting slabs with soft reduction

open access: yes工程科学学报, 2016
The crack morphology and element segregation in continuous casting slabs were studied to solve the problem of internal cracks. The stress of the solidification front was analyzed by a finite element model at a series of reduction parameters and compared ...

N-group neutron transport theory: A criticality problem in slab geometry

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1977
AbstractThe steady-state equation for N-group neutron transport in slab geometry is written as an integral equation. A spectral analysis is made of the integral operator and related to the criticality problem. The method depends on a representation for the resolvent kernel for a subcritical slab and on analytic continuation in a complex parameter to ...

Resisting punching shear stress in reinforced concrete slabs

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
Punching shear failure is a major problem encountered in the design of reinforced concrete flat slabs. The utilization of shear reinforcement via shear studs or other means has become a choice for improving the punching shear capacity.

Criticality problems for slabs and spheres in energy dependent neutron transport theory

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1980
AbstractThe steady-state equation for energy-dependent neutron transport in isotropically scattering slabs and spheres is formulated as an integral equation. The Perron-Frobenius-Jentzsch theory of positive operators is used to analyze criticality problems for transport in slab and spherical media consisting of core and reflector.

Contact Lens with Moiré Patterns for High‐Precision Eye Tracking

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents a passive contact lens for high‐precision eye tracking, integrating a microscopic moiré grating label. The parallax‐induced shift of macroscopic moiré patterns enables angle measurement with 0.28° precision using a standard camera under ambient light.

Effects of a semi-infinite stratification on the Rayleigh-Taylor instability in an interface with surface tension

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2017
The Rayleigh-Taylor instability (RTI) in an infinite slab where a constant density lower fluid is initially separated from an upper stratified fluid is discussed in linear regime.

Frontiers in earth sciences: new ideas and interpretation

open access: yesAnnals of Geophysics, 2006
A one-day symposium on new and conventional ideas in plate tectonics and Mediterranean geodynamics was held in Rome on February 19, 2003 at the headquarters of INGV. There were two main reasons for such an initiative.

Mechanistic Insights into a Synergistic FeOx/Fe‐N4 System for Practical Nitrate Abatement with Value‐Added Ammonia Recovery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work provides a novel interpretation of the nitrate reduction mechanism on iron oxides (FeOx) by employing constant‐potential density functional calculations and reports the design and synthesis of a robust and high‐performance Fe3O4/Fe‐N4‐C catalyst with remarkable Faradaic efficiency, current density, and stability under practical reaction ...
