Electroconvulsive Therapy in Croatia

We have performed the first survey on the use of electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) in Croatia. We surveyed the ECT practice using a 20-item questionnaire in the Zagreb University Hospital Centre, Osijek University Hospital Centre, and Split University Hospital Centre, the only 3 facilities that have provided ECT, between July 2012 and July 2013.

A representative sample of schizophrenic subjects was collected for epidemiological and clinical follow-up in 1972 from the pool of 8069 patients registered in the Croatian Psychotics Case Register (CPCR). Teleradiology in Croatia

A teleradiology system connecting 35 workstations in 27 hospitals was established in Croatia. In two years of operation, 2071 consultations were conducted using the system at an average rate of four neurosurgical teleconsultations per day. Eighty patients required urgent transfer to the tertiary hospital and 181 required non-urgent transfer.
