Začetak Akademijina Odsjeka za etnologiju seže u 1888. godinu, kada je kao prva etnološka institucija u Hrvatskoj osnovan Akademijin Odbor za sabiranje spomenika tradicionalne literature.

Hilye-i Şerif in Form of Triptych from the Holdings of the Oriental Collection of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts

The paper presents a wooden triptych bearing the description of the Prophet Muhammad, known as Hilye-i Şerif.
