Facies and Bedding Styles in Basin-Floor Fan Deposits of the West Crocker Formation, West Sabah: Implications for Deepwater Reservoir Facies Distribution

PGCE 2010, 2010
The Oligo-Miocene West Crocker Formation in the Kota Kinabalu area, West Sabah, is often described as a sand-rich turbidite system. A field programme was undertaken to study the sedimentary facies of the West Crocker as a possible analogue for the deepwater reservoirs of the NW Sabah Basin and elsewhere.

Soft-Sediment Deformation and Hydraulic Fracturing of Deep-Water Sediments: Examples from The West Crocker Formation (Oligocene-Lower Miocene), Sabah, Malaysia

PGCE 2006, 2006
Soft-sediment deformation is a common feature of sedimentary rocks deposited under conditions of rapid burial. In the Lower Miocene West Crocker Formation, Kota Kinabalu area (West Sabah), soft-sediment deformational features occur in deep-marine sandstone, interpreted as submarine turbidites and debris flows.
