Analyzing Electronic Excitations and Exciton Binding Energies in Y6 Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The Y6 molecule is used for increasing the efficiency of organic solar cells. The exciton binding energy is calculated for ensembles of Y6 molecules that are representative of the typically used films. The calculations show that the excitons typically spread out over many molecules.

Estimation and verification of autumn lettuce evapotranspiration in greenhouse based on single crop coefficient method

open access: yesGuan'gai paishui xuebao
【Objective】 The variation in evapotranspiration is an important parameter in irrigation design. In this paper, we propose and verify a modified single crop coefficient method to calculate the evapotranspiration of greenhouse lettuce.

Maize Hybrid Response to Sustained Moderate Drought Stress Reveals Clues for Improved Management

open access: yesAgronomy, 2020
Crop water productivity (CWP), irrigation water productivity (IWP), actual seasonal basal crop coefficient (Kab), and actual crop evapotranspiration (ETa) are essential parameters for accurate estimation of crop water requirement to prevent irrigation ...

Optimal Control of Locusts in Subsistence Farming Areas [PDF]

open access: yes
Locust swarms hit subsistence-staple-crop-growing households at random and are not privately controllable. A regional aerial-spraying scheme that supports these households’ livelihood at the least cost is proposed.

Long-term fate of sewage-sludge derived cadmium in arable soils [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The focus of this work was to improve knowledge of the long-term fate of cadmium supplied to arable soils by sewage sludge. Emphasis was placed on measured and modelled changes in the solubility and mobility of cadmium, resulting from long-term turnover ...

Cu‐Based MOF/TiO2 Composite Nanomaterials for Photocatalytic Hydrogen Generation and the Role of Copper

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
HKUST‐1/TiO2 composite materials show a very high photocatalytic hydrogen evolution rate which increases as a function of the irradiation time until reaching a plateau and even surpasses the performance of the 1%Pt/TiO2 material after three photocatalytic cycles.
