Phoma du tournesol et dessèchement précoce : point sur les avancées de la recherche

open access: yesOléagineux, Corps gras, Lipides, 2010
Phoma macdonaldii is the causal agent of black stem disease of sunflower (Helianthus annuus L). In France, the incidence and severity of the disease increased dramatically in the early 90s and the entire sunflower cropping area is now affected. Premature

Evaluation of in vitro toxicity of common phytochemicals included in weight loss supplements using 1H NMR spectroscopy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We investigated the toxicity of 12 active compounds commonly found in herbal weight loss supplements (WLS) using human liver and colon cell models. Epigallocatechin‐3‐gallate was the only compound showing significant toxicity. Metabolic profiling revealed protein degradation, disrupted energy and lipid metabolism suggesting that the inclusion of EGCG ...

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

Companion Cropping to Manage Parasitic Plants

open access: yesAnnual Review of Phytopathology, 2010
Parasitic plants, through a range of infestation strategies, can attack crop plants and thereby require management. Because such problems often occur in resource-poor farming systems, companion cropping to manage parasitic plants is an appropriate approach.

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

Predicting and Comparing the Subjective Health Experience of Older Cancer Survivors and Non‐Cancer Survivors: A Modeling Approach

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
This study underscores the significant influence of frailty and vitality on the subjective health experience of older cancer survivors with acceptance and control emerging as salient mediators. These findings affirm the conceptual and empirical robustness of the model highlighting its potential utility in shaping future interventions for older cancer ...

Herbicide selectivity by differential metabolism: considerations for reducing crop damages Seletividade de herbicidas por metabolismo diferencial: considerações para redução de danos em culturas agrícolas

open access: yesScientia Agricola, 2009
Herbicide selectivity is an agricultural technology largely exploited in chemical strategies of weed control. The joint action of several protection mechanisms avoids phytotoxicity from herbicide treatment, maintaining the level of agronomically accepted

The MMP‐9/TIMP‐1 Ratio and Concentrations of Osteopontin Are Elevated in Cerebrospinal Fluid of People With Multiple Sclerosis and Decrease After Autologous Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives To evaluate the utility of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) biomarkers—matrix metalloproteinase‐9 (MMP‐9), tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases‐1 (TIMP‐1), the MMP‐9/TIMP‐1 ratio, and osteopontin (OPN)—as indicators of blood–brain barrier (BBB) integrity and disease activity in people with relapsing–remitting multiple sclerosis (pwMS ...
