This study characterizes the responses of primary acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patient samples to the MCL‐1 inhibitor MIK665. The results revealed that monocytic differentiation is associated with MIK665 sensitivity. Conversely, elevated ABCB1 expression is a potential biomarker of resistance to the treatment, which can be overcome by the combination ...

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

A REVIEW AND EVALUATION OF WEATHER-CROP YIELD MODELS [PDF]
The purpose of this paper is the relatively limited one of reviewing the literature for models which develop specific relationships between climatic variables and crop yields.

Predicting crop productivity and adapting the rice plant to changing climates: The importance of modeling [PDF]
Climate change scenarios are predicting, by the end of the century, an increase in air temperature from 1.1 to 6.4 °C and in air [CO 2] from 600 to 1500 ppm, associated with more frequent submergence and drought events in the rice-growing regions ...

The macroeconomic cost of catastrophic pollinator declines [PDF]
We develop a computable general equilibrium (CGE) approach to assess the macroeconomic impacts of productivity shocks due to catastrophic losses of pollination ecosystem services at global and regional scales.

Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).

ON MODELING SYSTEMS OF CROP ACREAGE DEMANDS [PDF]
This article presents an alternative approach to the specification of systems of crop acreage responses. Derived demands for acreages of individual crops are specified as conditional on total crop acreage, and related separability and dynamic ...

Survivin and Aurora Kinase A control cell fate decisions during mitosis
Aurora A interacts with survivin during mitosis and regulates its centromeric role. Loss of Aurora A activity mislocalises survivin, the CPC and BubR1, leading to disruption of the spindle checkpoint and triggering premature mitotic exit, which we refer to as ‘mitotic slippage’.
