Characteristics of crop residues

Agricultural Wastes, 1986
Abstract This paper reports the results of work carried out to determine the characteristics of the residues of important agricultural crops in North India. Density, equilibrium moisture content, higher calorific value and the results of chemical, proximate, elemental and thermogravimetric analyses of the crop residues are reported and discussed.

Crop Residue Management

1991
In less affluent countries such as those in South and Southeast Asia, grain is directly used for human consumption, and crop residues are the main source of fodder for animals. In addition, crop residues have several other uses (Table 1). Crop residues are certainly an asset in these countries and seldom are left in the field.

Pyrethroid insecticide residues on vegetable crops

Pest Management Science, 2001
Abstract Pyrethroid insecticides were applied on various vegetable crops as foliar treatments to determine dissipation rates. On Chinese broccoli (Guy Lon), Chinese mustard (Pak Choi) and Chinese cabbage (Kasumi, napa), fenvalerate was persistent with residues of 0.10, 0.14 and 0.11 mg kg −1

Visualizing soil surfaces and crop residues

IEEE Computer Graphics and Applications, 1993
A test case for visualizing field and laboratory data pertaining to soil erosion and infiltration is examined. Several visualization techniques were used to derive image data from an experiment in which the effect of a sequence of five rainfalls on a laboratory-formed soil surface was measured.
