Mainstream Planting Systems Influence Spatiotemporal Variations in the Soil Quality of Watershed Sloping Farmland

open access: yesAgronomy
Mainstream planting systems of watershed sloping farmland span the globe and are closely related to the variations in the soil quality of watershed sloping farmland. However, little information is available about how mainstream planting systems influence

Effect of Supplementing Inorganic Fertilizer with OrganicFertilizer on Growth and Yield of Rice-Cowpea Mixed Crop

open access: yesPlant Production Science, 2012
With the renewed interest in mixed cropping and the increasing awareness of environmental degradation arising from high chemical inputs, this experiment was conducted to assess the effect of supplementing inorganic with an organic fertilizer on the ...

Apparent N Balance in Organic and Conventional Low Input Cropping Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The determination of nutrient surplus is one of the indicators of potential N losses from the agricultural system to the environment. An experiment was started in 1998 in Central Italy to evaluate the soil surface N balance of an organic and a ...

A State‐Adaptive Koopman Control Framework for Real‐Time Deformable Tool Manipulation in Robotic Environmental Swabbing

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work presents a state‐adaptive Koopman linear quadratic regulator framework for real‐time manipulation of a deformable swab tool in robotic environmental sampling. By combining Koopman linearization, tactile sensing, and centroid‐based force regulation, the system maintains stable contact forces and high coverage across flat and inclined surfaces.

GOVERNMENT POLICY, WIND EROSION, AND ECONOMIC VIABILITY IN SEMI-ARID AGRICULTURE: THE CASE OF THE SOUTHERN TEXAS HIGH PLAINS [PDF]

open access: yes
The 1996 farm bill challenges agricultural producers to pursue conservation objectives while allowing flexibility and reducing subsidies. The nature of this challenge for semi-arid rainfed, wind-erosion-prone agriculture is explored via a behavioral ...

Native Grassland Conversion: the Roles of Risk Intervention and Switching Costs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We develop a real option model of the irreversible native grassland conversion decision. Upon plowing, native grassland can be followed by either a permanent cropping system or a system in which land is put under cropping (respectively, grazing) whenever

ChicGrasp: Imitation‐Learning‐Based Customized Dual‐Jaw Gripper Control for Manipulation of Delicate, Irregular Bio‐Products

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Automated poultry processing lines still rely on humans to lift slippery, easily bruised carcasses onto a shackle conveyor. Deformability, anatomical variance, and hygiene rules make conventional suction and scripted motions unreliable. We present ChicGrasp, an end‐to‐end hardware‐software co‐designed imitation learning framework, to offer a ...

MENINGKATKAN PRODUKTIVITAS TANAMAN PAKAN MELALUI SISTEM TANAM GANDA

open access: yesPastura: Journal of Tropical Forage Science, 2017
Agricultural and forage land used are generally not increased even tends to decrease, therefore the land use needs to be optimized; one of them is by mean of multiple cropping system. Land management efforts through the multiple cropping systems selected
