Genome‐Wide Association Study Reveals Insect Genetics and Microbial Symbiont Effects on Susceptibility of Diaphorina citri to the Citrus Greening Pathogen, Candidatus Liberibacter Asiaticus

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study investigates the genetic and microbial factors influencing the susceptibility of Diaphorina citri to the citrus greening pathogen Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus (CLas), employing a microbiome Genome Wide Association Study. The research identifies a key gene encoding an MFS‐type transporter contributing to CLas infectivity and abundance in

The economic sustainability of cropping systems in Indian Punjab: A farmers' perspective [PDF]

open access: yes
Food for all continues to be a key issue, especially in the developing world where every fifth person is chronically undernourished. India, a fast growing developing country has also experienced serious food shortages for example in the mid 1960s. Punjab,

Climate variability as experienced by farmers. [K-2224-04] [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The typical approach of estimating crop response to future climate scenarios may be inappropriate in the case of smallholder multi cropping rain-fed agriculture.

BLADE‐ON‐PETIOLE Genes Enable Genetic Bottleneck Mitigation Through Cross‐Species Repurposing of Floral Persistence Traits

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study shows that BLADE‐ON‐PETIOLE (BOP) proteins regulate floral abscission and senescence in tomato by interacting with TFAM1 to form transcriptional condensates controlling the ARABIDOPSIS THALIANA HOMEOBOX GENE 1 (ATH1)‐mediated abscission pathway.

Impact of soybean (Glycine max L.) and maize (Zea mays L.) inter-crop on the vegetative and yield performance of yellow oleander (Thevetia peruviana (Pers) Schum.) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Vegetative and yield performance of Thevetia peruviana (Pers) Schum. were evaluated under soybean (Glycine max L.) and maize (Zea mays L.) cropping systems during the 2008 and 2009 rainy seasons at the Research Farm of the Biofuel Alternative and ...

Solid Harmonic Wavelet Bispectrum for Image Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The Solid Harmonic Wavelet Bispectrum (SHWB), a rotation‐ and translation‐invariant descriptor that captures higher‐order (phase) correlations in signals, is introduced. Combining wavelet scattering, bispectral analysis, and group theory, SHWB achieves interpretable, data‐efficient representations and demonstrates competitive performance across texture,

Climate change-induced northward shifts in double cropping system in China: Implications for crop production potential and water use

open access: yesAdvances in Climate Change Research
Climate change may shift double cropping system into new areas and increase cropping intensity in some regions, creating opportunities to boost crop production.

ECM‐Stiffness Mediated Persistent Fibroblast Activation Requires Integrin and Formin Dependent Chromatin Remodeling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Prolonged exposure to stiff extracellular matrix drives cancer‐associated fibroblasts into a persistently activated myofibroblast state. Two parallel pathways are identified: β1 integrin activation smoothens the nuclear lamina to reduce lamin–chromatin contacts, while the formin mDia2 regulates nuclear actin to alter chromatin organization.
