Cross-calibration between airborne SAR sensors

IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 1993
A comparative study of data acquired by two different airborne synthetic aperture radar (SAR) sensors from the same site is presented. External, ground-target-based calibration has been performed on the NASA/JPL DC-8 SAR C-band data and the DLR E-SAR C-band data collected over the DLR test site in Oberpfaffenhofen.

A Satellite Cross-Calibration Experiment

IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Letters, 2004
Recently, the Advanced Earth Observing Satellite 2 (ADEOS-2) was launched (December 14, 2002) successfully, and the Global Imager (GLI) onboard the ADEOS-2 satellite became operational in April 2003. In a first calibration checkup, the radiometric performance of GLI was compared relatively to that of other sensors on different satellites with different

Truths cross-calibration uncertainty tool

2015 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS), 2015
This paper describes a set of tools, algorithms and methodologies that have been developed and used in order to estimate the radiometric uncertainty achievable for a Sentinel 2/3 like sensor through in-flight cross-calibration using a well-calibrated hyperspectral SI traceable reference sensor such as the proposed TRUTHS (Traceable Radiometry ...

OCO/GOSAT Preflight Cross-Calibration Experiment

IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2010
The Orbiting Carbon Observatory (OCO) by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) and Greenhouse gases Observing SATellite (GOSAT) by JAXA were built to provide independent measures of the global distributions of carbon dioxide (CO2) from space. GOSAT achieved a successful orbit on January 23, 2009, and OCO failed its launch attempt on February 24, 2009.

Cross Calibration by FFT Equalization

Journal of Dynamic Systems, Measurement, and Control, 1997
The classical calibration problem is primarily concerned with comparing an approximate measurement method with a very precise one. Frequently, both measurement methods are very noisy, so we cannot regard either method as giving the true value of the quantity being measured.

Assessment of bidirectional reflectance effects on desert and forest for radiometric cross-calibration of satellite sensors

, 2020
Cross-calibration is a wildly used approach to radiometrically calibrate satellite sensors to meet uncertainty requirements. However, its accuracy is greatly influenced by bidirectional reflectance distribution function (BRDF) effects. To understand such

The importance of cross-calibration and protecting water temperature sensors against direct solar radiation heating in hydrological studies

, 2020
Water temperature monitoring is important in many scientific studies. This study compares three models of water temperature sensors (Vemco Minilog II, HOBO TidbiT and HOBO Pendant) to test the importance of: (1) using cross-calibration to minimize ...
