The Global Space-based Inter-Calibration System (GSICS) routinely monitors the calibration of various channels of Earth-observing satellite instruments and generates GSICS Corrections, which are functions that can be applied to tie them to reference ...

Long-term monitoring of regional and global environment changes often depends on the combined use of multi-source sensor data. The most widely used vegetation index is the normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI), which is a function of the red and ...

XMM-Newton (cross)-calibration
ESA's large X-ray space observatory XMM-Newton is in its fifth year of operations. We give a general overview of the status of calibration of the five X-ray instruments and the Optical Monitor. A main point of interest in the last year became the cross-calibration between the instruments.

Cross-calibration method based on an automated observation site
Cross-calibration methods are widely used in high-precision remote sensor calibrations and ensure observational consistency between sensors. Because two sensors must be observed under the same or similar conditions, the cross-calibration frequency is greatly reduced; performing cross-calibrations on Aqua/Terra MODIS, Sentinel-2A/Sentinel-2B MSI and ...

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Radiometric Cross-Calibration of GF6-PMS and WFV Sensors with Sentinel 2-MSI and Landsat 9-OLI2
A panchromatic and multispectral sensor (PMS) and a wide-field-of-view (WFV) sensor were fitted aboard the Gaofen6 (GF6) satellite, which was launched on 2 June 2018.

Timeliness of Correcting Baseline Error in Wide-Swath Altimeter Based on Reference Topography Data
The baseline error is a primary error source of the wide-swath altimeter, directly related to the cross-track distance, and can lead to serious height errors at the swath’s outer edge.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
