Unified Green’s Function Retrieval by Cross Correlation

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2006
It has been shown by many authors that the cross correlation of two recordings of a diffuse wave field at different receivers yields the Green's function between these receivers. Recently the theory has been extended for situations where time-reversal invariance does not hold (e.g., in attenuating media) and where source-receiver reciprocity breaks ...

On the cross-correlation function of a nonlinear network

Proceedings of the IEEE, 1977
It is shown that the shape of the cross-correlation function of a nonlinear network consisting of the cascade connection of a linear network, a memoryless nonlinearity (NL) and a second linear network is independent, in the Gaussian case, of the presence of NL only when NL is not even. An explicit expression for the cross-correlation function of such a

Applications of cross-correlation functions

Wear, 2011
Abstract We describe several examples where we use cross-correlation functions to quantify the similarity of 2D surface profiles or of 3D areal surface topography images. The applications have included (1) the manufacture of standard reference material (SRM) bullets and casings, (2) methods to assess whether bullets or casings have been fired by the ...

Bounds on the Cross-Correlation Functions of State m-Sequences

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1987
Summary: The performance of the periodic Hamming correlation function of the sequences of states of m-sequence simple linear feedback shift register generators is evaluated. We call these sequences state m-sequences. Theoretical lower and upper bounds on the peaks of the Hamming cross- correlation functions of those sequences, which are often used in ...

The Auto- and Cross-Correlations of Walsh Functions

SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics, 1977
The correlations of Walsh functions are defined and some of their properties derived. One property proved is a recursion relation, which relates correlations of high index functions to those of low index functions. Successive.applications of the equations yield an expression for evaluating the correlations at a restricted value of the time shift.

On cross-correlation properties of Boolean functions

International Journal of Computer Mathematics, 2011
The relationship among cross-correlation of arbitrary four Boolean functions is presented. Several known cross-correlation properties of Boolean functions are generalized. Based on them, a lower bound for the maximal cross-correlation (in absolute value) of two Boolean functions (if one of the functions is bent) is obtained.

On cross-correlation properties of Boolean functions

2009 Fourth International Conference on Communications and Networking in China, 2009
To measure the correlation between two arbitrary Boolean functions, we propose the two new criteria called the sum-of-squares indicator and the absolute indicator of the cross-correlation. The two indicators generalize the GAC criterion (which was proposed by X.M. Zhang and Y.L.
