Accelerating a cross-correlation score function to search modifications using a single GPU
Background A cross-correlation (XCorr) score function is one of the most popular score functions utilized to search peptide identifications in databases, and many computer programs, such as SEQUEST, Comet, and Tide, currently use this score function ...

Nonreciprocal Green’s function retrieval by cross correlation
The cross correlation of two recordings of a diffuse acoustic wave field at different receivers yields the Green’s function between these receivers. In nearly all cases considered so far the wave equation obeys time-reversal invariance and the Green’s function obeys source-receiver reciprocity.

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Tumor mutational burden as a determinant of metastatic dissemination patterns
This study performed a comprehensive analysis of genomic data to elucidate whether metastasis in certain organs share genetic characteristics regardless of cancer type. No robust mutational patterns were identified across different metastatic locations and cancer types.

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Polynomial Fitting-Based Noise Reduction for Correlation Functions in Medium-Frequency Radar
In the theoretical calculation of atmospheric wind fields using the cross-correlation analysis method of Medium-Frequency radar, it is necessary to compute a series of correlation parameters from the received echo signals, such as autocorrelation and ...
