LASIK With the Optimized Aspheric Transition Zone and Cross-cylinder Technique for the Treatment of Astigmatism From 1.00 to 4.25 Diopters

open access: closedJournal of Refractive Surgery, 2009
Purpose: The predictability and safety of LASIK with the optimized aspheric transition zone (OATz) and cross-cylinder technique were evaluated for the surgical correction of myopia with 1.00 to 4.25 diopters (D) of astigmatism.

Analysis of the Cross Cylinder and Chevron Techniques for Finding the Axis of Astigmatism

open access: closedClinical and Experimental Optometry, 1985
: This paper presents a theoretical analysis of cross cylinder (CC) and chevron tests for the axis of astigmatism. Both tests depend on the detection of a difference in blur between two out of focus targets. Blur differences are calculated for a wide range of simulated test conditions which may be encountered in clinical practice.
