Photon blockade with cross-Kerr nonlinearity in superconducting circuits

Laser Physics Letters, 2018
Abstract We theoretically investigate the photon statistical properties of a weakly-driven circuit quantum electrodynamic system with a cross-Kerr nonlinearity, which is built from two coupled transmon qubits through a superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID).

Bypassing dynamic reciprocity via a chiral cross-Kerr nonlinearity

Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics, 2022
The optical Kerr nonlinearity can't be used to achieve on-chip optical nonreciprocity because of dynamic reciprocity. Here, we propose a chiral cross-Kerr nonlinearity to bypass dynamic reciprocity and to achieve all-optical nonreciprocity on a chip.

Dicke state generation using cross-Kerr nonlinearity

Journal of Modern Optics, 2011
In this paper, we propose two ways of Dicke state generation using single photons and weak coherent pulse resorting to Kerr nonlinearities. By interference of two coherent beams, the Dicke state are realized in polarization and photon number degrees of freedom.

Cross-Kerr nonlinearities in an optically dressed periodic medium

Physica Scripta, 2011
Cross-Kerr nonlinearities are analyzed for two light beams propagating in an atomic medium in the tripod configuration, dressed by a strong standing-wave laser field that induces periodic optical properties. The reflection and transmission spectra as well as the phases of both the reflected and transmitted components of the two beams are analyzed ...

Enhancing optical delay using cross-Kerr nonlinearity in Rydberg atoms

Applied Optics, 2020
A scheme to enhance the optical delay in Rydberg atoms is proposed. In the linear case, the optical delay in a four-level system can be significantly enhanced compared to that of the three-level system. However, the width of the transparent window will decrease with an increase in the optical delay.

Generation of an arbitrary logic W state with cross-Kerr nonlinearities

Laser Physics Letters, 2020
Abstract Environmental noise is a big obstacle in quantum communication and computation. Quantum error code (QEC) technology can resist the photon transmission loss and decoherence error caused by the environmental noise and has great application potential in future quantum communication and computation fields. The generation of logic
