QUASI-STATIONARY OPTICAL SOLITONS IN NON-KERR LAW MEDIA WITH FULL NONLINEARITY [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this paper, the governing equation for optical solitons, namely the nonlinear Schrödinger's equation, is studied with non-Kerr law nonlinearity in the presence of perturbation terms with full nonlinearity.

Three‐Dimensional Optical Characterization of Magnetostrictive Deformation in Magnomechanical Systems

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
An optical approach is proposed for real‐time and high‐precision detection of the magnetostrictive deformation of an yttrium‐iron‐garnet sphere in three dimensions, based on the deformation induced spatial high‐order modes of the scattered field, postselection, and balanced homodyne detection.

EFFICIENT SCHEME FOR PREPARING POLARIZATION-ENTANGLED PHOTONIC CLUSTER STATES BASED ON CROSS-KERR NONLINEARITY [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
A scheme is proposed for generating a polarization four-photon cluster, which is believed to be suitable to achieve the one-way quantum computing via single-qubit projective measurements, with the help of only cross-Kerr nonlinearity and current linear ...

Broadband Parametric Amplification in AlGaAs‐on‐Insulator Nanowaveguides

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Harnessing the exceptional nonlinearity of AlGaAs‐on‐insulator nanowaveguides, four‐wave‐mixing parametric amplification achieves a record net on‐chip gain of 56 dB and a gain bandwidth exceeding 415 nm at telecom wavelengths. These results establish AlGaAsOI as a powerful platform for compact, high‐performance integrated nonlinear optical ...

Joint estimation of noise and nonlinearity in Kerr systems [PDF]

open access: yes
We address the characterization of lossy and dephasing channels in the presence of self-Kerr interaction using coherent probes. In particular, we investigate the ultimate bounds to precision in the joint estimation of loss and nonlinearity and of ...

Optical‐to‐Microcomb Stability Transfer for Ultrastable Timing and Microwave/Millimeter‐Wave Generation

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates a high‐fidelity stability transfer from an optical reference to a high‐repetition‐rate microcomb using a mode‐locked laser bridge. By employing electro‐optic sampling timing detection, femtosecond‐level synchronization and 10−18‐level fractional frequency stability are achieved.

Is the Plastic Waste Trade a Barrier to Sustainable Development? Empirical Evidence From RCEP Countries

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT There is widespread consensus on the threats that plastic waste poses to the environment. A significant obstacle to sustainable development, the trade in plastic waste may contribute to plastic pollution. The objective of this research is to look at how the import and export of plastic waste affect the sustainable development of Regional ...

Ethnic integration and the value of innovation

open access: yesStrategic Management Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Research Summary Organizations have become increasingly ethnically diverse, and this diversity often brings together distinct technological competencies. Understanding how firms can leverage such diversity to produce valuable innovations therefore becomes essential.

Cavity magnomechanics: from classical to quantum

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics
Hybrid quantum systems based on magnons in magnetic materials have made significant progress in the past decade. They are built based on the couplings of magnons with microwave photons, optical photons, vibration phonons, and superconducting qubits.
