Design of Cross-Laminated Timber in Fire
Structural Engineering International: Journal of the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE), 2017Cross-laminated timber (CLT) is a popular engineered wood product for loadbearing wall, floor and roof elements to realise innovative and high-quality modern timber structures.

An Innovative Connection System for Cross-Laminated Timber Structures
Structural Engineering International: Journal of the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE), 2017The paper presents a new connection system for cross-laminated timber (CLT) structures, named X-RAD. This innovative connection system is characterised by the use of a single connector type that is positioned at the corners of the CLT panels. X-RAD is formed by a metal part surrounding a hardwood insert that is fixed to the panels by means of all ...

Buckling of cross laminated timber walls
In this paper, the linear buckling of Cross Laminated Timber walls is investigated. A 3D numerical study using finite-elements is presented for several Cross Laminated Timber geometries, ply configurations and boundary conditions. First, it is shown that critical buckling loads are close to the material failure load which proves the necessity of a ...

Development and structural behaviour of adhesive free laminated timber beams and cross laminated panels [PDF]
Glued-laminated timber (glulam) beams and cross-laminated timber (CLT) panels are increasingly being used as structural members for buildings, because of their excellent mechanical properties, ability to be processed into larger structural sections and ...

On the architectural qualities of cross laminated timber
2010In resent years wood as a building material has gain renewed focus and with that new production methods and wooden products have been developed. One of these products is Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) which, by means of high-technology production and a distinctive construction with layers of lamellae glued together crosswise, possesses structural ...

The Hygroscopic Warping of Cross-Laminated Timber
2010This chapter focuses on moisture-induced deformations in three-layered cross-laminated timber with a symmetrical build-up, where the fibre direction of the middle layer is oriented perpendicular to that of the outer layers. Dimensional stability, i.e. the ability to resist warping, is of main interest for the application of such wood panels.
