Real-Time Anomaly Detection using Average Level-Crossing Rate

open access: yesInternational Journal of Innovative Technology and Exploring Engineering, 2020
Vibration data collected from piezoelectric sensors serve as a means for detecting faults in machines that have rotating parts. The sensor output that is sampled at the Nyquist rate is stored for analysis of faults in the traditional condition monitoring system. The massive amount of data makes the analysis very difficult.

Are suicide rates related to the psychiatrist density? A cross-national study.

open access: yesFrontiers in Public Health, 2016
Introduction. Most suicide victims have a diagnosable psychiatric disorder. Treatment of psychiatric disorders should reduce the number of suicides. Higher psychiatrist-per-population ratio increases the opportunity for contact between the patient and ...

Asymptotic crossing rates for stationary Gaussian vector processes

open access: yesStochastic Processes and their Applications, 1988
The expected number of crossings of a differentiable Gaussian vector process through a hypersurface is given by a surface integral over this surface. Simple asymptotic approximations for these integrals are derived. The results are obtained by a generalization of the Laplace method for the asymptotic expansion of multidimensional integrals.

Serological measures of malaria transmission in Haiti: comparison of longitudinal and cross-sectional methods.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
BackgroundEfforts to monitor malaria transmission increasingly use cross-sectional surveys to estimate transmission intensity from seroprevalence data using malarial antibodies.
