Body Mass Index and Musculoskeletal Pain: A Cross-Sectional Study [PDF]
Introduction With obesity reaching pandemic proportions, its detrimental influence on many health-related conditions has recently become a focus of research. Musculoskeletal (MSK) pain is one of several disorders associated with obesity. Materials and methods This study was designed to identify MSK pain in individuals with severe obesity, recruited ...

On three-body scattering cross sections
Using a Hilbert space version of the Faddeev method. The authors prove finiteness and continuity as a function of the energy of the total scattering cross section for three quantum mechanical particles with two-body initial states. It is assumed that the pair potentials are locally in Lq(R3) for some q>3/2 and decay as mod x mod -2- delta at infinity.

Water tunnel experiments on transverse-galloping of cantilevered rectangular and D-section prisms
In the case of an elastically mounted rectangular prism with a side ratio of less than D/H = 0.5 (where D: depth of a bluff body in the flow direction, H: height of a bluff body normal to the flow direction), it is well known that low-speed galloping ...

Numerical simulation of the flow around a simplified vehicle with an upswept aft section
An upswept aft section at the underbody in ground effect can improve the aerodynamic downforce of vehicles. In order to clarify the effect of the upswept aft section, a simplified vehicle with the upswept aft section is examined using Large Eddy ...

The influence of different cross-section shapes of train body on aerodynamic performance
In this paper, the influence of different cross-section shapes of train body on aerodynamic performance has been investigated by numerical simulations. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is used with the second-order finite volume method with SST k-omega

Body image in women with HIV: a cross-sectional evaluation.
HIV lipodystrophy syndrome is a recognized complication of potent antiretroviral therapy and is characterized by often dramatic changes in various body fat stores, both central and peripheral. Given prior findings of heightened body image dysphoria among HIV-infected men with lipodystrophy as compared to HIV-infected men without lipodystrophy, we ...
