Knowledge Management in Software Engineering: A Systematic Review of Studied Concepts, Findings and Research Methods Used [PDF]

open access: yesBj{\o}rnson, F. O., & Dings{\o}yr, T. (2008). Knowledge Management in Software Engineering: A Systematic Review of Studied Concepts and Research Methods Used. Information and Software Technology, 50(11), 1055-1168, 2018
Software engineering is knowledge-intensive work, and how to manage software engineering knowledge has received much attention. This systematic review identifies empirical studies of knowledge management initiatives in software engineering, and discusses the concepts studied, the major findings, and the research methods used.

Autophagy in cancer and protein conformational disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Autophagy plays a crucial role in numerous biological processes, including protein and organelle quality control, development, immunity, and metabolism. Hence, dysregulation or mutations in autophagy‐related genes have been implicated in a wide range of human diseases.

Effect of different noise reduction techniques and template matching parameters on markerless tumor tracking using dual‐energy imaging

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 23, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Purpose To evaluate the impact of various noise reduction algorithms and template matching parameters on the accuracy of markerless tumor tracking (MTT) using dual‐energy (DE) imaging. Methods A Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator was used to acquire a series of alternating 60 and 120 kVp images (over a 180° arc) using fast kV switching, on ...

The reliability of an environmental epidemiology meta-analysis, a case study [PDF]

open access: yesRegulatory Toxicology and Pharmacology, 2019, 2019
Summary Background Claims made in science papers are coming under increased scrutiny with many claims failing to replicate. Meta-analysis studies that use unreliable observational studies should be in question. We examine the reliability of the base studies used in an air quality/heart attack meta-analysis and the resulting meta-analysis. Methods A

Circulating tumor cells in metastatic breast cancer patients treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors – a biomarker analysis of the ALICE and ICON trials

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative biomarker analysis, we assessed serial sampling of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) with CellSearch in two randomized trials testing immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in metastatic breast cancer. Our data demonstrate a prognostic potential of CTCs, most apparent 4 weeks into ICI therapy.

Accuracy of patient dose estimation in cone beam computed tomography in breast irradiation by size‐specific dose estimates with position correction

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 23, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Abstract This study aims to investigate the effects of the position correction of size‐specific dose estimates (SSDE) on patient dose estimation in cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). The relationship between the phantom position and absorbed dose in the right breast was studied using optically stimulated luminescence dosimeters and a simulated human

Cross‐sectional studies – what are they good for? [PDF]

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, 2018
AbstractCross‐sectional studies serve many purposes, and the cross‐sectional design is the most relevant design when assessing the prevalence of disease, attitudes and knowledge among patients and health personnel, in validation studies comparing, for example, different measurement instruments, and in reliability studies.

Quick assessment of hopelessness: a cross-sectional study [PDF]

open access: yesHealth and Quality of Life Outcomes, 2006
Lengthy questionnaires reduce data quality and impose a burden on respondents. Previous researchers proposed that a single item ("My future seems dark to me") and a 4-item component of the Beck's Hopelessness Scale (BHS) can summarise most of the information the BHS provides.
