Cross spectral iris matching based on predictive image mapping

2010 Fourth IEEE International Conference on Biometrics: Theory, Applications and Systems (BTAS), 2010
An adaptive method to predict NIR channel image from color iris images is introduced. Both visual inspection of the predicted image and the verification performance indicate that the adaptive mapping linking NIR image and color image is a potential solution to the problem of matching NIR images vs. color images in practice.

Thermal and Cross-spectral Palm Image Matching in the Visual Domain by Robust Image Transformation

2019 International Conference on Biometrics (ICB), 2019
Synthesizing visual-like images from those captured in the thermal spectrum allows for direct cross-domain comparisons. Moreover, it enables thermal-to-thermal comparisons that take advantage of feature extraction methodologies developed for the visual domain. Hand based biometrics are socially accepted and can operate in a touchless mode.

Adaptive Harris Corner Detector Evaluated with Cross-Spectral Images

2018
This paper proposes a novel approach to use cross-spectral images to achieve a better performance with the proposed Adaptive Harris corner detector comparing its obtained results with those achieved with images of the visible spectra. The images of urban, field, old-building and country category were used for the experiments, given the variety of the ...

Fast cross-spectral image registration using new robust correlation

Journal of Real-Time Image Processing, 2006
In this paper, we explore a new correlation technique for cross-spectral image registration. The proposed technique matches the orientation feature of the second derivatives while making use of a statistical robust M estimator. Furthermore, it takes advantage of Fourier and multi-resolution techniques to reduce the complexity of spatial correlation ...

Cross-spectral face recognition with image quality disparity using image fusion

Automatic Target Recognition XXIX, 2019
Cross-spectral matching of active infrared (IR) facial probes to a visible light facial gallery is a new challenging problem. This scenario is brought up by a number of real-world surveillance tasks such as recognition of subjects at night or under severe atmospheric conditions.

Element-Wise Feature Relation Learning Network for Cross-Spectral Image Patch Matching

IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, 2022
Recently, the majority of successful matching approaches are based on convolutional neural networks, which focus on learning the invariant and discriminative features for individual image patches based on image content. However, the image patch matching task is essentially to predict the matching relationship of patch pairs, that is, matching (similar)

Cross Spectral-Spatial Convolutional Network for Hyperspectral Image Classification

2019 Tenth International Conference on Intelligent Control and Information Processing (ICICIP), 2019
Hyperspectral imaging system (HSI) uniquely captures a full spectrum of the reflected radiance of any object in the spatial domain (real world), where each substance exhibits different spectral signatures that combine quantitative and qualitative information.

Cross-spectral image patch similarity using convolutional neural network

2017 IEEE International Workshop of Electronics, Control, Measurement, Signals and their Application to Mechatronics (ECMSM), 2017
The ability to compare image regions (patches) has been the basis of many approaches to core computer vision problems, including object, texture and scene categorization. Hence, developing representations for image patches have been of interest in several works. The current work focuses on learning similarity between cross-spectral image patches with a
