Calibration and cross-validation of MCCB and CogState in schizophrenia

Cognitive impairment associated with schizophrenia is a key predictor of functional outcomes. The FDA-accepted MATRICS Consensus Cognitive Battery (MCCB) is held to be the gold standard measure but there are concerns about its ease of administration, reliance on language causing problems with translation and possible practice effects.

Calibration of estuarine current crosses

Abstract Tethered current crosses are simple, reliable tools in making measurements of estuarine currents in the absence of surface waves. The standard error of the estimate of current speed is less than 5 cm s−1 for the particular crosses and weights used in a calibration experiment.

This paper presents the procedure to perform cross-calibration of radar backscatter between the QuikSCAT and Oceansat-2 ocean wind scatterometers. Both QuikSCAT and Oceansat-2 are Ku-band dual pencil beam, rotating antenna scatterometers with similar design.

The Orbiting Carbon Observatory (OCO) by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) and Greenhouse gases Observing SATellite (GOSAT) by JAXA were built to provide independent measures of the global distributions of carbon dioxide (CO2) from space.
