Cross-correlation function in the interpretation of potential fields anomalies of strike-slip nature [PDF]
In the study, a comparison of correlation characteristics that can be obtained when analyzing areal geophysical data in COSCAD 3D, GIS INTEGRO software, as well as in custom software with a novel approach, has been conducted.

Nonreciprocal Green’s function retrieval by cross correlation
The cross correlation of two recordings of a diffuse acoustic wave field at different receivers yields the Green’s function between these receivers. In nearly all cases considered so far the wave equation obeys time-reversal invariance and the Green’s function obeys source-receiver reciprocity.

Fluctuations of thermal variables investigated by cross-correlation function
Fluctuations in conjugate thermodynamic variables are studied using the cross-correlation function. A new procedure is given enabling the derivation of fluctuation formulas for a system in equilibrium. Specifically, the cross-correlation function between heat and temperature is employed for thermal variables.

On the possibility of breaking the heterodyne detection quantum noise limit with cross-correlation
The cross-correlation sensitivity of two identical balanced photodiode heterodyne receivers is characterized. Both balanced photodiodes receive the same weak signal split up equally, a situation equivalent to an astronomical spatial interferometer.

The cross-correlation function (CCF) is an established technique to calculate time-of-flight for ultrasonic signals. However, the quality of the CCF depends on the shape of the input signals. In many use cases, the CCF can exhibit secondary maxima in the
