European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline and EXPeRT Recommendations for the Diagnosis and Management of Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms in Children and Adolescents

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

Cross-Flow Microfiltration of Dilute Macromolecular Suspension

open access: yes, 2011
100學年度研究獎補助論文The operating condition effects on the cross-flow microfiltration performance of dilute macromolecular suspension were studied. Track-etched membranes of different pore sizes were used to filter blue dextran with a molecular weight of 2000 ...

Bubble formation at a flexible orifice with liquid cross-flow [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
In waste water treatment, biological processes for denitrification and nitrification are performed using oxidation ditches. In these reactors, the mixing and the aeration functions are dissociated: a bubble cloud is generated from flexible membrane ...

Numerical Investigation of Cross Flow on the Performance of Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cell

open access: yesJournal of Thermal Science and Technology, 2013
A three dimensional, single-phase, isothermal study of a polymer electrolyte fuel cell (PEFC) was conducted to investigate the mechanism of convective flow effect on the performance of fuel cell.

Experimental study on two-dimensional cross-flow impeller with a minimal splitter plate instead of casings

open access: yesMechanical Engineering Journal, 2020
In the present study, the authors investigate the simplest model of cross-flow impellers, in order to provide the fundamental flow features of cross-flow impellers.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Numerical Study of Pressure Drop Mechanism and Cross Flow Behavior in the Gas Channel and Porous Medium of a Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cell

open access: yesJournal of Thermal Science and Technology, 2013
The three-dimensional, transient, isothermal, gas-flow behavior in the serpentine channel and porous gas-diffusion layer (GDL) of a polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell was investigated numerically.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Mass transfer in cross- flow parallel-plate dialyzer with internal recycle for improved performance

open access: yes, 2011
The internal reflux effect on dialysis through the retentate phase of a cross-flow rectangular module is investigated. Theoretical analysis of mass transfer in cross-flow devices with or without recycling is analogous to heat transfer in cross-flow heat ...

Irreversible mechanism and thermal cross-radiative flow in nanofluids driven along a stretching/shrinking sheet with the existence of possible turning/critical points

open access: yesFrontiers in Materials
The significant increase in thermal efficiency and the rate of energy exchange used in fuel dynamics and automobile coolants are leading to a better understanding of nanofluids.
