The impact of frailty syndrome on skeletal muscle histology: preventive effects of exercise

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Frailty syndrome exacerbates skeletal muscle degeneration via increased ECM deposition and myofiber loss. This study, using a murine model, demonstrates that endurance exercise attenuates these histopathological alterations, preserving muscle integrity. Findings support exercise as a viable strategy to counteract frailty‐induced musculoskeletal decline

Soft-Fermion-Pole Mechanism to Single Spin Asymmetry in Hadronic Pion Production

open access: yes, 2009
Single spin asymmetry (SSA) is a twist-3 observable in the collinear factorization approach. We present a twist-3 single-spin-dependent cross section formula for the pion production in pp-collision, p^\uparrow p\to\pi X, relevant to RHIC experiment.

Microfluidic electro‐viscoelastic manipulation of extracellular vesicles

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The electro‐viscoelastic manipulation as a potential method for separation of particles based on size. The particles introduced as a sheath flow migrate to the channel center under the influence of simultaneously applied electric field and pressure driven flow.

Validation of electromagnetic physics models and electron range in Geant4 Brachytherapy application

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Technology, 2023
The mechanics underlying photon and electron interactions was validated using our developed Brachytherapy computer code for high Dose Rate (HDR). By comparing the photon cross-section utilizing multiple physics libraries in the developed code, the ...

Measurement of the jet mass in highly boosted $${\mathrm{t}}\overline{\mathrm{t}}$$ t t ¯ events from pp collisions at $$\sqrt{s}=8$$ s = 8 $$\,\text {TeV}$$ TeV

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2017
The first measurement of the jet mass $$m_{\text {jet}}$$ m jet of top quark jets produced in $${\mathrm{t}}\overline{\mathrm{t}} $$ t t ¯ events from pp collisions at $$\sqrt{s}=8$$ s = 8 $$\,\text {TeV}$$ TeV is reported for the jet with the largest ...

Pulse Pressure, White Matter Hyperintensities, and Cognition: Mediating Effects Across the Adult Lifespan

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives To investigate whether pulse pressure or mean arterial pressure mediates the relationship between age and white matter hyperintensity load and to examine the mediating effect of white matter hyperintensities on cognition. Methods Demographic information, blood pressure, current medication lists, and Montreal Cognitive Assessment ...

Measurement of differential cross sections for $${\text {Z}}$$ Z boson production in association with jets in proton-proton collisions at $$\sqrt{s} = 13\,\text {TeV} $$ s=13TeV

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2018
The production of a $${\text {Z}}$$ Z boson, decaying to two charged leptons, in association with jets in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 13$$\,\text {TeV}$$ TeV is measured.

Cervical Spinal Cord Magnetization Transfer Ratio and Its Relationship With Clinical Outcomes in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective The cervical spinal cord (cSC) is highly relevant to clinical dysfunction in multiple sclerosis (MS) but remains understudied using quantitative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). We assessed magnetization transfer ratio (MTR), a semi‐quantitative MRI measure sensitive to MS‐related tissue microstructural changes, in the cSC and its ...
