Tobacco Ringspot Virus Isolated from Crotalaria (Crotalaria spectabilis).
Japanese Journal of Phytopathology, 1968 Two causal viruses were isolated from crotalaria (Crotalaria spectabilis) showing yellow ringspot and mosaic symptoms. The first virus was identified with bean yellow mosaic virus. The virus was transmitted mechanically and also by Myzus persicae. The hosts of this virus were crotalaria, broad bean, bean, soybean and Chenopodium amaranticolor.

Experimental Biology and Medicine, 1960 SummaryConcentrations of 0.05% to 5% Crotalaria spectabilis seed were fed to chicks. All concentrations of the legume were shown to be toxic. Concentrations in excess of 0.3% produced death in all birds within 18 days. When less than 0.2% was fed there was a marked reduction in weight gain.
