Optimization of Linear Seismic Isolation Parameters via Crow Search Algorithm

open access: yesPamukkale University Journal of Engineering Sciences, 2020
In this study, isolation parameters of a seismic isolated structure were optimized via crow search algorithm (CSA). A shear frame model was generated with a base isolation system. The aim is to obtain isolation system parameters that result the minimum roof acceleration without exceeding the isolator displacement limits. The Matlab program was used for

Race‐related research in economics

open access: yesEconomica, Volume 93, Issue 370, Page 403-438, April 2026.
Abstract Issues of racial justice and economic inequalities between racial and ethnic groups have risen to the top of public debate. Economists' ability to contribute to these debates is based on the body of race‐related research. We study the volume and content of race‐related research in economics.

In Vivo Skin 3‐D Surface Reconstruction and Wrinkle Depth Estimation Using Handheld High Resolution Tactile Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 15, Issue 11, 20 March 2026.
A compact handheld GelSight probe reconstructs in vivo 3‐D skin topography with micron‐level precision using a custom elastic gel and a learning‐based surface normal to height map pipeline. The device quantifies wrinkle depth across various body locations and detects changes in wrinkle depth following moisturizer application.

Disentangling the effects of multifunctional forestry practices on the abundances of birds and their invertebrate prey

open access: yesEcological Applications, Volume 36, Issue 2, March 2026.
Abstract European forests are increasingly managed to harmonize production goals with biodiversity conservation, through practices such as retention and close‐to‐nature forestry. Forest birds may benefit from these practices, but it remains unclear how the effects of different management practices compare, and whether responses to management are driven

Quasi Opposition–Based Learning With Artificial Rabbit Optimization for Feature Selection of Breast Cancer

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 3, March 2026.
Workflow of proposed QOBL‐ARO with GS‐SVM method for BC using mammogram images. ABSTRACT Mammogram images are the most appropriate modality for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis which supports early diagnosis in women. However, the handcrafted features are insufficient for effective BC classification, which negatively impacts the model's accuracy and leads ...

Work Has Changed, Has HRM? Designing for the Distributed, Fragmented, and Fluid Era

open access: yesHuman Resource Management, Volume 65, Issue 2, Page 305-324, March/April 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper addresses the growing misalignment between traditional human resource management (HRM) systems and the realities of distributed, fluid, and fragmented work. To address this issue, we introduce the FLUID‐HRM framework—a layered design architecture that reconfigures core HRM domains (resourcing, rewards, development, relations, work ...

Pigeons, portals, and Pacman: Insightful problem solving and navigation using a touchscreen video game

open access: yesJournal of the Experimental Analysis of Behavior, Volume 125, Issue 2, March 2026.
Abstract Video games have been used in several studies to investigate problem solving. We present empirical findings from a redesigned touchscreen navigation “grid‐world” procedure resembling the classic video game PacMan (hereafter, “pacman”) played by pigeons. Our objective was to develop a procedure to study insight, similar to that of Epstein et al.

Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis of Mortality in Patients With Anorexia Nervosa

open access: yesInternational Journal of Eating Disorders, Volume 59, Issue 3, Page 424-449, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective Anorexia nervosa (AN) has one of the highest mortality rates among psychiatric disorders. This systematic review and meta‐analysis examined the all‐cause mortality of AN patients compared to the general population using the standardized mortality ratio (SMR).
